Hi

In a TV-box without a button and with eMMC kinstong, I installed via OTA without any problem.

But...

How is it updated now ??

There is no OTA update app

If someone wants to return to the Stock Firm ... How can it be achieved?

You just install the OTA update in TWRP Recovery. (Type "reboot recovery" in Terminal, click Install, select source and pick .zip file, and then swipe to install.)

You have to turn it on in Developer Options. [Settings->About->Build Number (tap 7 times), then go to Developer Options and select Local Debugger.] It will then be visible in the App Drawer.

Some feedback

Been using it for a couple of days after update, no freezes or any issues whatsoever. This rom works way better than the original stock rom. Massive thanks to the dev. I may finally have a one box solution for all the media needs.

Hi Guys,

Just got one of the lucky one, B041 sec713, version 20170815. Bricked it after ato update. Tried everything except mask rom, didn't work. Went through all the threads this morning. And now problem solved and I even have the tvstock running in the box now.

solution is simple: open usb burning tool, import original 20170815 version IMG, click start, tick force erase, hold reset , plug in usb to computer ONLY (don't connect power!!!), flashing started within 3 seconds.

After checking it did work, I flashed tvstock 0930 version same way without any problem.

This post got buried but might be useful for some.
I have seen a couple of 20170815 devices get bricked. I was lucky with my 20170815 device and did not have any problems so far.
So it seems to be a gamble.
My device is also a SEC 713.

Got it today.
upgraded.
working like charm.
a2 lite as remote....as recomended
and problem:

setup..box.hdmi.receiver.hdmi.samsung d series.
cec is working like on rpi2..except I cant turn on box!!
when i shut down receiver box shutsdown (not sleep). Cant start box with a2 lite or when change input to box. I have to take it from socket and back for full cycle.

tried all combo in all cec setings and none is not puting box just to sleep.
some help appriciated.

Unfortunately, the power-on IR code is hardcoded in the bootloader. It's not aware of any changes you made in remote.conf or any USB or Bluetooth remote that happens to be connected. The NEO A2 Lite should have an IR transmitter, and you've got to ensure it's transmitting the same code as the OEM remote.

Hi folks !

Received M8S yesterday from Gearbest.
Firmware version 0619 in date of 2017-09-19 (seems to be last firmware ?).
Downloaded OTA update, rename as "update.zip" and put it on USB drive, and using OTA app : local update with data wipe.
In less than 1 minute, fully working Android TV ! DRM Ok so far.

Magendaz, really thank you for such a wonderful rom !

I am discovering Android TV, and experience is incredibly better than Android on a TV.

Youtube is OK, KODI is OK, NetFlix is OK, MyCanal is buggy (but it's the app, not the rom).
I can access About menu without problem.

Had to try CEC on my TV, and also try chromecast.

But, very nice ROM

Everything perfect, except one thing .. (there is always a but ...)

Even after making wipe data and wipe media ..., Google Play is still a TVStock firm application and therefore only lets install TV applications.

How can I make Google Play let me install all the applications that could be installed in the original firm?

- CEC is not working on my Samsung TV.
- TV power, vol and hdmi keys learned on remote. So cool.
- HDMI Perfect !
=> when you turn of device (powerkey on remote), hdmi power is cut off, so my hdmi switch can recognize poweroff and switch to another source !

This TV Box, with magendaz firmware, overmatch all my expectations !

Found AirScreen but has limits with annual subscriptions? The stock firmware had miracast and airplay available but when the atv update took place its missing? Anyway getting them back?

But I think the subject is complicated and deep, it may seem at first.

The question for what I have been able to observe is that although I have managed to return to the original firm, now, in some way, the TV box is marked as TV for Android, so now it considers that it is working for a TV so it installs you Google Play Store in its version for TV (so it reduces the list of available applications) and also installs the TV version of the applications (which in some cases may not interest).

As I indicated by now the return to the original state with the original firmware, I have not achieved it, I think that only this small question (Google play store for TV) remains.

I am waiting for Guest, comment your opinion and possible solution to the problem. So far it has been solving all the problems that have been presented.
