      Hello PEX,

I have M8S_PRO+-20170829.121614.V0321 and my question is if I can upgrade it to the latest OEM --> M8S_PRO+-NHG47L-20170919.150557.V0619 ?

Probably not worth it. If you have any issues then report it. No issue (freezing) then you could do a test update using the first update .zip file - If that is OK then you could try further changes.
If you do not need a custom ROM or the latest OEM then leave it alone unless you want to prove an issue for warranty reasons or future updates.
Many if not most boxes with 0829 have been bad.

can I hide the root in this ROM? How is it done? I need it for a specific app.

You were right - the bad batch does not work with new OEM firmware.

            Hello there!

Sorry if this was already covered... But here we go: can I update this TVStock rom over another version of the rom (Nano) that's already OTA updated? This is the scene: I've purchased the box, and updated with Nexus Nano version, using the OTA updater app that cames with the box. I have the Nano Nexus working good on my M8S Pro plus, but now I want to update to this version (TVStock Nexus), and that's not possible, because I don't have the OTA updater app anymore. So, I've booted TWRP Recovery on a SDCard (using Reboot Manager from Playstore that I've previously installed), and want to know if it's possible to make the update using OTA zip file with the option "Install" in TWRP (don't know if this OTA zip is just an incremental update or can be installed via TWRP too...)

Thanks in advance. And sorry by the gramatical errors (my english is not that good...)

Yes, you can. However, I recommend you also do a data wipe in TWRP with the install so that you don't have a mishmash of ATV and non-ATV apps.

YES! TWRP worked like a charm! Thanks, loving the rom!

Picked up a new box that wasn't from the bad batch(es), flashed the TVstock ROM, and it works great! Thanks again to Magendanz for a super job.

Still have the bad box and periodically try flashing it different ways. If something ever works, will check back in.

                Hi,
Does anyone know if it is safe to buy it now from geekbuying (e.g european warehouses ) ? Is there already a better alternative?
                Thank you i nadvance

For not much more $$$ the MECOOL M8S Pro L is a better buy and also has Guest ATV ROM and does 1080p Netflix as well.
No eMMC flash problems seen yet on the Pro L with all devices sold.

Yes, and there's the new M8S Pro W, which also has Widevine L1. Seems like they're crowding the low-end with the M8S Pro+, since that's also quad-core with no Bluetooth. Perf is about 23% slower than the M8S Pro+: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...1-4k-vp9-h-265

They all seem to run hot, especially the S912 based boxes. PX has added a different heat sink and better thermal paste. Would be nice if some kind person would make a video on how to do it, and what to use and where to purchase it.

                    Some Thermal Glue
                    http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_s...l_adhesive.htm

Some places will charge a lot so look around
A heat sink that will fit in the box the one that is supplied should do
Or Google 25 x 25 x 5mm for Heatsink , Only need to cover CPU really

Or this is 25 x 100 x 10 cut you own to size with a hacksaw (leave no alloy filings when fitting) around 2 bucks
If you are going to mode a few always comes in handy

Clean surface of Heat Sink and CPU alcho wipes

Mix the paste small amount to cover CPU Thin Layer
Not a HUGE dob like cream on a scone

Thin layer on CPU last for about 5 minutes before it goes off
Place heat sink and hold firm...Done

Try not to handle PCB to much be mindful that static can damage.
