Has anyone tried 4K Netflix with Magendanz' ROM(s)? Just curious because the Netflix app, on first launch after signing in, immediately prompted me to upgrade the subscription to the Ultra HD (4K) tier.

I have tested it, and it does NOT play Netflix in 4K, posibly because it only has HDCP-1.x, and not HDCP-2.x. See my video for testing Netflix on 3 of my devices.

My two M8S Pro devices purchased in May and July only support DRM L3 and do not have HDCP support. Already my M8S Pro + purchased in September has support for DRM L1 and HDCP 1.0, in other words I believe that only the latest devices are coming with it. There are M8S Pro cases with DRM L1 and HDCP 1.0 support, after upgrading to the latest ATV. I do not know this is something present only on the hardware or if only Flash over the PC passes all the files needed to give the support. There are and already help me telling me how to flash the PC, there is almost nothing on YouTube about it.

I own the Mecool M8S Pro Plus and have a Problem. In itself the Box works perfectly, except 2 annoying Errors. Error No. 1 is that the Box changes the Language to chinese after every restart. I change it to another Language that only holds until the restart and then it must be changed again. Number 2 is that my Xbox 360 controller is not recognized by USB.

Now I thought, I'll flash the Nexus CustomRom (Factoryreset before & after) and maybe the Errors are gone. The Update worked, but the Errors are still there. I think it's because I can not do a wipe because my Box has no Reset-Button. Maybe it is also due to the Memory of Samsung? It is not exactly the Memory that is called in the Startpost, but it could still be due to it. The PCB says: M8S PRO+_V1.0 4Layers T1.2mm 170605 Samsung eMMC 5.1 - KLMAG1JENB - B041 - SEC 728
The Firmware was already the most recent (20171006).

Could a Wipe help or is it a hopeless situation? The Language in Chinese is not the biggest Problem right now, but I would like to use the Xbox 360 Controller to play emulators. Thank you very much for reading

The language issue is a problem with HDMI CEC language detection, which can easily be turned off.

Hi, sorry for the question but what exactly is PCB, some app or information present on the board? About the problem with the Wired connection with your Gamepad may be a general problem of these boxes, remember that before is another version my box supported Wired Gamepad but did not work Bluetooth, then it worked with Bluetooth connection but Wired stopped working.

It worked, thank you very much. I have one more question. Where can I change the resolution in Nexus-Rom? With 1080p, the box is overwhelmed in some situations, 720p is sufficient for me.

I did just that because I couldn't stand how choppy the UI was at 1080p. Here's how to do it:

1) Open the Terminal app (enable it on Developer options or download Termux app)
2) In Terminal, type the following:

su
wm size 1280x720
wm density 213

That will give you a 720p UI while still displaying videos at full resolution (up to 4K) and it's much smoother that way. Note that it might cause glitches in some apps that aren't prepared for resolutions other than 1080p (Leanback Launcher for example will screw up the background image)

This is off topic but kindly help me. I have nexbox S905X but after installing nexbox default 7.1 andriod firmware after upgrading there is no option available in youtube app to play videos of 1080p just 720p option available. I installed youtube andriod tv app or simple Youtube app but only 720p option available to stream videos. I successfully played 1080p videos in previous xanny tech firmware. Kindly help?

Sorry for the dumb question - new to flashing ROMs. I am on the nano ROM and now want to start fresh and try this one. I get how to boot to TWRP and that is what I am planning on using. I am assumming I use the OTA zip file (not the other file or the img file) and go to install in TWRP? Then, what do I need to do as far as wiping data when install? Thanks for the help.

Type "reboot recovery" in a Terminal window, then click Install, select your .zip file, and swipe to install. After that, you can do an optional data wipe by clicking "Wipe Data" and Factory Reset.

The Terminal app is hidden by default, and you need to enabled it in Developer Options under "Local terminal". Also, the Developer Options is hidden by default, and you need to expose that by clicking 7 times in Settings->About->Build.

Alternatively, you can just install Terminal Emulator or any app that exposes restart to recovery. You'll find a ton of them in the Play Store.

My m8s pro+ is officially toast. I'm looking at either getting another box or getting a m8s pro W (s905w) or m8s pro L, would prefer the W because of the price, however I did not see any custom firmware for it. Magendanz, what is your opinion?

GearBest is sending me a M8S Pro W now, and so a custom ROM should be forthcoming. Performance on the M8S Pro W, however, is about 23% slower than the M8S Pro W, so it will almost certainly be more sluggish. If performance, Bluetooth or dual-band wireless are important to you, I'd steer towards the M8S Pro L.

The new ones do not have Samsung eMMC anymore, but use Kingston instead AFAIK.
Also, the new ones do not have a reset button, so I am not sure if you can boot LibreELEC with it.
But other than that I don't think there are any differences.

Easy to install LibreELEC on boxes without the reset button.
