    It happens occasionally, possibly not going to Off Mode correctly. The other day I noticed my box was warm even though it had been "Off" all night. Wouldn't wake, and needed a power cycle. Normal box is cold when Off.

      No, it locks up while using it. Yesterday, I was playing a live TV stream, using Emby, and I left the house for about half an hour. After I returned, my "L" was frozen, had to reboot. This happens quite often, but I think it is because of some of the apps I have running in the background. I have never taken the time to find the cause, but, I do think it is caused from some bad app coding that this box does not like.

              Always had that issue, not heat related indeed, happens with every custom rom available (I tried them all). Currently I'm not using this box, using M8S Pro+ and no such problems.

                Guys, is M8S Pro L any better than M8S Pro (when both have L1 Widevine)?

                  Doesn't the M8S PRO have DDR4 RAM while the M8S PRO L is DDR3? And does the M8S PRO still have a reset button? If so, that would make the M8S PRO a better box.

                I purchased this product in 2017. At that time, MECOOL's custom OS and launcher were installed. If I purchase again now, is the pure Android TV OS installed? looks like mibox or nexux

                    Pro L now comes with V9xx FW which is a version of Android TV with the Leanback Launcher.
                    It now includes AptoidTV and an Apps Folder so that you can sideload out of the box.

                    If you want the old Mecool Launcher you have to go back to V3xx or V6xx OEM FW (some later may be Mecool "look" but ATV base ??)

                    You can install Magendanz Nexus Stock or Nano for a phone like interface.

                      I just bought a mi pro l and Netflix is showing only at 480p...
                      DRM seems to be ok
                      Apps are update (netflix and the others)

                      Do you know what is the problem??

                        For those that purchased the Mecool M8S Pro L with Bluetooth Voice Remote, this is how to enable the Bluetooth. After a lot of trial and error, I finally figured out how to get the remote to connect as a Bluetooth device. Go into "More Settings" then "Bluetooth" and enable it. Now hold the center "OK" button at the same time you will depress the volume down button "-" button. It will connect as RemoterATV3. Everything works with Bluetooth including the Voice button.

                          Hah, couldn't get the BT Voice Remote to pair either until Clarkss12 helped me out, but still sketchy so I did a Default Reset and guess what ? A First Run splash setup saying Press (-) and (OK) on Remote etc.
                          My box hadn't been reset from the factory after build testing ....
                          Easier life when you get the helpful start screen.

                            Great BT Remote now I have it working.

                            Doesn't seem to do Voice when paired with my Magendanz ATV L Box but may not be latest update ....
