Thanks for your reply. Not sure how I missed that post. Looks like Guest confirmed using the OTA update zip to move onto this ROM will work so I think I'll go down that route. Hopefully no issues.
Good luck with your new box.
Thanks, sure i also will try the ota update which seems to be easier. And he informed, that the result should be the same as with the img.-file in USB Burning tool. Even so i am curious to try perhaps the burning tool and never tried to work with the terminal window and the "reboot update" command.
I will decide, when i get the box, let´s see.

Please inform me, how the ota update worked for you, after installation, thanks.

No problem. I'll report back once I apply the update.

Guest I accidentally wiped system partition with TWRP and now can't install any update. Could you help me to restore oryginal system partition?

EDIT: Thx Guest it's alive now :-)

          Don't do that!! :-)

There are really two ways to proceed at this point. The easiest would be to just flash the burn package using USB Burning Tool. You'll need a male-to-male Type A USB cable connected to the USB OTG port (closest to the power connector), load the burn package (.img file), hit Start, then type "reboot update" from TWRP Terminal.

Alternatively, you can open up the OTA update (.zip file) and strip out the environment checks in the update script (META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script). Just remove everything in the section that starts with the comment "Confirm we're working on the right device and ROM version". Make sure to recompress with the same folder hierarchy and then install in TWRP.

I was hoping for some advice on how to update.
I am running the old version changelog (20171115) which was updated via update local OTA update from USB drive.
I want to update to the new version Changelog (20171202), but when I go to update it just says system up to date, no option for local update or OTA update.
The file is a zip file and on a FAT32 USB which worked last time - but there is no option to select this.
        How should I update?
I think you can have the new image file on a usb drive, and type "reboot recovery" in terminal.

Then you'll access options like update from usb.

I updated previously by this method and only got a black screen... had to change hdmi cable for the image to show correctly.

I'll update now again by this method (i have also 20171115 installed in dual boot with libreELEC).

Looks like you've just got the OEM 20171109.180937.V0928 firmware installed. Of course, it's got stock recovery instead of TWRP, but it does have the Update app, so you should be able install an OTA update from Settings->About->System Update.

Thanks for your help, this worked fine. Had to reboot recovery like you said and then update from there.

On the new version there is an option to do local update so may not need to do reboot recovery method next update.

Thank you very much, the update has been carried out successfully. Now there is both the twrp and the terminal app. The bug remains in the Google account settings the app crashes. Thank you for your availability . Will the question that the pro L is not recognized by the Burning tool be resolved in the future? Perhaps due to the lack of the reset button?

The USB OTG detection fix will require a bootloader updated from VideoStrong. It's really up to them.

La domanda che il pro L non viene riconosciuto dallo strumento di masterizzazione verrà risolta in futuro? Forse a causa della mancanza del pulsante di reset? Grazie Guest

I absolutely like the latest released you did. I installed it using OTA it is running amazing.
I just have one request for you if there is a feature that at midnight it will turn off the box
and at 7 a.m. it will turn on automatically box back on
if that feature can be added in your custom ROM it will be amazing a lot of people will like that.
My box just run like 40 degrees I remove the top and I just have added the laptop cooler no need to put new heatsink or anything
On another note Netflix run amazing 1080p and YouTube run 4K

There are a bunch of apps that will allow you to automate shutdown and restart. Check the Google Play Store and APKMirror.

                        Just one thing for me:
When i try to install adaway. My box say "You're device is not rooted"
And when i open superuser, app say "binaries must be update" but when i click "recovery install", i have an error.
                        So how to proceed?
                        this rom is not rooted?
                        Original is rooted? no?
Thanks if you can help me

Yes, this is factory rooted, but sometimes the apps have problems detecting the factory root because they're looking for evidence of SuperSU or Majisk. Basically, if you open a terminal windows, type "su" and get a root prompt ("#"), you've got root access.

Before updating SuperSU binaries, you can first try removing the factory root with a script like this one: http://freaktab.com/node/669422
                      Working...
