Same error here, seems like we all having this problem trying to install the new OTA update, very strange...

EDIT: i managed to upload the UPDATE.ZIP file here... https://we.tl/t-SqM3QI3Zl5 if somone else wants to try, but, it doesn't work, i've tried copying into the internal memory and into an external HDD and same problem always, even after a factory reset, but, nothing!!!

Just out of interest, which directory was it downloaded to?

Can't remember the full path, something like Android->data->a***fota or something like that, but, internal path was always empty even without install it, i only could get it downloading the update after plug an external usb storage and i took from same path in external usb

To be honest, I'm not really bothered about this update or even a new one that installs and "fixes" Netflix.

The last one lasted about 3 weeks before Netflix blocked it again.

Unless the developers officially license Android TV, it's only a matter of time until it's blocked.

Next, i found the original Mecool M8S Pro W firmware from this site ( https://chinagadgetsreviews.com/down...-w-tv-box.html), it was an older version of the firmware and not the ATV version, but was in an IMG format so I could burn it to my box using the USB Burning tool. After I got it installed on my box, it now thinks my box is an official Mecool box. Next, I downloaded a newer OEM firmware from Magendanz's page, copied the file to a USB pen drive. Inserted the Pen drive into my box and using the UPDATE app from Android, I wiped data and media. After box rebooted, took awhile for the firmware to setup, but now I have an ATV Andoid, ALMOST the same as the original firmware..

Now, Voice works, and I have my Widevine DRM level 1 back, so now I have Netflix in 1080p with DD+

I also bricked my box and i want to make the same steps as you, first i will try to install with usb burning tool the m82 pro w firmware.
Then the Magendanz oem firmware, which one you used exactly, can you tell me the link of the rom and the name of the file,thanks a lot

Yes i found it just 5 mintues ago.

I already flashed with usb burning tool the mecool firmware. You are really great, you helped me a lot.

Now i would install Magendanz ota rom, perhaps you can check, if this is really the same rom i found as you have?? thanks a lot for your great help

i tried this rom, but it did not work, aborted message error: this update package is intended only for the M8S Pro+

so would be great if you could tell me which rom exactly from Magendanz you used...thanks

then you do the update ota: http://legion.name/upload/Smart-TV-B...2556.V0213.zip, you put it in a usb key and you make the update via the deco in parameter update ota

i tried it, but first boot shows a long time DaivietPDA logo and nothing more, is that normal?

the usb burning was succesfully, but now it stays with this logo a long time already
