Pipo M6 Pro RileyROM 1.2

OK, here's the deal.

I had the ROM ready to go last night. This time totally debloated...no Pipo stuff at all. Just before I started uploading, I started testing a couple of ROM's I did the same thing to and got nothing but a black screen at boot. Well, since I had my M7Pro to test on, I was able to figure it out...but it meant having to start over with this ROM. I have to do some more testing to get it to boot.

By the time I figured all of this out, it was way too late for me to concentrate, so I went to bed.

I'm at work, until late tonight...so in the morning, it shouldn't take me too long to get this one working.

That will save you and me a bunch of headaches.

I'm hoping this will solve this 3G nightmare.

Riley, thanks m8 for all your hardwork, i have your latest rom running and it is much more steady as the stock rom, except i have some question:

- the battery is after charging with the 220v charger after 1 hr going from 96% to 80%...? It will not load tot 100% after full charge...strange! How long do you guys charge the pipo?
- In standby mode after 2 days the pipo is dead! How long standby is normal?
- I still counter some lags in menu's and it looks like the tablet is thinking over and over on the smallest actions, like going to settings...it loads and loads and after 4 seconds your are in the menu? is that normal?
- With booting i hear a click of the processor? Is this normal?
- charting with usb isn't possible through a driver issue?
- driving with tomtom navigation app i get a blank screen? reinstalling doens't solve the issue.

Rom update questions:
Isn't there a clockworkmod or other utility to install on the pipo to delete the dalvik cache for example?
Is there a better and faster app/setting to solve the GPS issue?
if you look very good to the screen, with white setting I see dark coloured lines in my screen, is this normal?

I bought last week the M6 pro. Installed was the custom Rom. I installed on sunday the RR 1.2. I think my tablet is now a bit slower. I thought that everythimg should be a bit faster. Or is there an Option that i forget?hope you understand my Bad english.

Is it possible to change the Parameter file without reflashing it again?

Yes. I only forgot the part with the Parameter file -_-

from manual riley:

The default parameter file (just named "parameter"), is for 2 GB. If you would like to change this, rename this file to "parameter2" (no quotes), and then rename the file with the size (in Gigabytes) you want - from "parameter#.txt" (# being the number), to just "parameter". Again, no quotes in actual file names.


But why you want to change, just put an micro sd card inside! install your games apps on that!

Nobody can ask more than all the work you've already done and still doing... so the ROM that U are preparing will be ready when it will be ready. Take your time, we are going nowhere.
I think that you are already incredible fast with updates on your ROM's when the original ROM's are released, so i can't imagine that anyone is going to complain here... we all appreciate your hard work !

1 - as many chinese tablet the battery seems discharging faster on first 15% of battery. If you charge the tablet in stand-by you will have more possibility to see 100% charge.
2 - this is a BIG issue for me: Pipo M6pro doesn't support deep sleep mode, 'till now, for that reason also in stand-by the CPU drains too much current and discharge the battery quite fast
3 - I do not see any evident lag, generally my tablet it's quite fast, but I suppose that this QUADCORE tablet is able to do more than this....For example it's very strange that the tablet power on lasts EXACTLY 1minute...
4 -The click is not for the processor, as far as I know it sholud be the autofocus of the back camera. You can hear this also if you go on camera mode.
5 - Charging with USB is not foreseen, and I think it's not possible beacuse the battery is based on 7.4V (the USB can supply only 5V)
6 - I Have no issue with my Tom tom if I keep the tablet in "portrait" mode.

If you download RileyROM package you can flash a clockworck recovery that could be used to clean dalvik cache.

I've been following this forum for the past few days and would like to thank RRiley (Randy?) for the roms and the effort he is putting into his work.

I have just received my new Pipo M6Pro 3G today and it came with the following Rom and Kernel:

There was no Pipo launcher at start-up or choice given to enable or disable it. I would have liked to play around with the Pipo launcher before getting rid off it but never mind.

As I understand I have a rooted english rom. Is this the latest rom and how is it different from Riley's 1.2 version?

Edit: Apparently, although AVG identifies Root as a threat, Titanium and Superuser can not be installed because they do not see the tablet as rooted. Strange!

As I'm still waiting for my M9Pro (see http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...ght=#post85920 ), I ordered a M6Pro-wifi rooted, and received, 5 days after, a M6Pro 3G (thanks !).

Probably the same provider than Douglas, because it has the same specification, and the same strange root. If I check with "Root check", it say "Root access available"
With "root checker" : SU found, no root access.
For ES Explorer, my system is not rooted.
And for Root Validator :


What do I have to do to be really rooted ? I need it to try to fix the GPS, and I'd like to do it with the current ROM (I'll try the next Riley's rom later ...)
