TVHEDEND OF Minix X7 server on finless

finally I setup tvheadend finless rom 1.8 on minix x7. Tvheadent works very well on finless1,8 rom than others rom. if tvheadend can catch signal usb dvb-s2. all (hd/sd, h264-mpeg2). it can mapped all channe and remap. I have set hotspot wifi of minix x7. later I connected my handyphone samsung glaxy s3 mini. sd channel work very well on. you can look photos. I taked to screenshot my handyphone. HD chhannels works but sometime stutering sw decoding. S3mini dont decode 1080p videos. its only decode 720p videos. Only problem flowing text for sd channels (photo flowing text) I think that android ffmpeg not works to decode and grap true hw or sw. it is derived from android or its is based android video codech graphing
Later I connected my laptop via wifi hotspot tvheadend server of minix. SD and HD channel works perfect.
Later I tryed minix playing capable.first tryed finless stock player. sd channels works very well. it has some problem flowing text. I tryed explorer of stock, vlc, mx, 3dplayer and Vplayer has some problem. later tryed HD channles. video playing stutering and green pillarboxing with all player (explorer and mx, stock, vlc, and vplayer) but vplayer abit more better other player.
later I tryed xbmc. sd channel playing very good but it has flowing text problem. XBMC has some problem ( stutering and green, pink pillarboxing HD channels).

The random "go back" funtion is back. i know a few people had this, but strangely it happens only during movies.

While watching movies, i am just returned to the previous screen before the movie, first i thought it is dropped packets or buffer overload, but it was not a network issue. It is definitely not an app crash since no FC show up.

I found something even more awkward, it only happens to me when the minix remote is facing minix. took the batteries out, and could watch the movie without being interfered. WTH?

PS, to Bob and all Logitech k400 owners, are you having any sort of issues. Rapid typing makes the minix dyslectic , and sometimes the last touched key just continuely inputs yet the key is not held, very annoying when it happens with the backspace button.

Make sure to erase the nand twice at least. I would download the rom again just to be sure the download was ok. Also select all the components to flash using the tool again. Don't just hit flash before doing so. Let us know how it goes!

Yes, I have also witnessed this "repeat last pressed button" syndrome with my K400r. Very annoying if it happens to be the 'back' button.

I have had this happen to me and noticed it seemed like some kind of communication issue. I moved the k400 WiFi dongle out on a USB hub and replaced my KB batteries and have not had the problem since.

Unfortunately not, it needs the lock screen working to switch users - it is based on the Minix ROM which seems to only have the lock screen partially implemented and not just hidden. Bob says it isn't a simple job to fix unfortunately.

Multi user would be great for me also as I use it as a big touchscreen in the kitchen with several of the family using it.

X7 MINI

For those of you that are curious and too lazy to read thru this entire thread, I installed Finless 1.8 on my MINI even though this ROM is for the original X7. Everything (including WiFi) appears to work except BlueTooth. Does the mini use different BT HW than the full X7? Has anyone use this ROM with an alternate kernel in order to get working BT? I apologize if this issue has already been addressed in this thread.

Well, I tested all kind of combinations, Finless 1.6-7-8, Quickshot, Lewy's, with kernels stock and OCed, 720 and 1080, MX Player, BS Player, XBMC a dozen of variants; on a Neo X7. I think I flashed more than a 100 times. Read a lot, here and in other forums too. I cannot find any combination which plays 1080p without frame dropping. The most obvious is when watching the credits at the end of the movies, the stuttering can be clearly seen. I tried the same movies on a cheap (and old) egreat R6S and the movies are smooth, no stuttering. Is that Neo X7 really unable to play 1080p movies smoothly?

Are you using xbmc? Dump it and use mxplayer+armv7 neon codec. Nevet have problem with all the x7 I have installed.

I tried MX player, BS player, XBMC several versions. Don't get me wrong, hardware decoding is working on (mostly) everything I tried; without it no way to get 1080p decent playback.
The playback in 1080p is (somehow) fine, however, at a closer look, there are some small "stops" every 2-3 seconds, hard to see, it's true. It is most obvious when there is something scrolling on the screen, like credits at the end of movies, or the text in the beginning at Star Wars.. I compared the scrolling with the playback of a (powerful) PC and with a cheap media player, when the stuttering does not occur. Call me too ambitious trying to get things perfect.
However, there must be some way to clearly identify this, meaning some counter or report of dropped frames, but I don't know how to get it. The only thing I managed is to get the info in BS player and after some 20 minutes of playback of a [email protected] I got a frame rate (reported by BS player) of 23.8. But I'm not sure if this a relevant test...
PS: Right know I'm using Nitroteam Quickshot with 1080p_1800_gpu798_ddr800 kernel from Molle http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...and-overclocks and I am seeing a small improvement. Flashed kernel a day ago, watched a movie, fiddled with xmbc (skins/settings).. no crash so far.

I noticed this to about no bluetooth on Tronsmart T428. To bad, I like the Rom.
