Yes, but I cannot download 8-bit files over the internet
All files we can download are .zip files, but this file has an .img file extention, which is an 8-bit file and cannot (by me) be downloaded.
Look at the downloadable files, these are all .zip files, except this file!

Why not? Firefox, for example, downloads these .img files just fine.

Duh. Wasser probably just forgot to zip these two images.

But the question remains: Why can't you download them? What are you using for downloading?

You can see it as a binary question:
Not every browser can handle binairy files, but
every browser can handle 7-bit files!

Because I and many other users, are using the same browser.

Which browser is that? I have downloaded the .img files successfully with FF, Chrome, IE8 and IE11.

You can try the standard Android browser for example, but there are a lot more....

Just did (both the AOSP browser and Dolphin). Long press on the link and select "Save link".

                    kernel-ddr720-cpu180-720p
Unfortunately this is no .zip fie but .img
Will you be so kind to correct this?
I'm flashing using tincore Quickflasher from play. Follow the instructions posted in the description of that app and you shouldn't have any problems.

i have to be very conservative with OC-ing in my box as it seems.
All works with mine. Wonder if its your power supply? I'm using the stock one provided from newegg

Stock one as well. It does take 30 minutes after it boots/wakes up for having the SystemUI crash thing, makes me wonder that something is heating up gradually and making the system unstable. UI hints me at GPU...

I will flash a lot tonight since i have time, just the moment when i feel settles with this box, some strange issue pops up .

The Dutch public Television/Radio ( www.npo.nl ) use it for all their live streams, as well as the visual radio streams ( e.g. www.3fm.nl - camera icon ). And the commercial network "RTL" also uses it for it's "RTL XL" app.

When connecting to a live stream, an "m3u8" manifest is downloaded, in which several options for resolutions and bitrates are available. The player chooses the best attainable stream quality based on bandwidth and cpu.

The confusing part: Android 4.4 is not the only version on which it can be supported. The "3fm" app or their mobile website can already use adaptive streaming perfectly on even older Android devices I have owend. But I guess, with kitkat, this can be done more easily whereas, previously, apps would have to implement this themselves.

Lack of adaptive streaming (also refered to as HLS/Smoothstreaming) is a real pain in the ass on almost any ROM available for any Rockchip device. The Android SDK Rockchip has supplied prevents me from using any method to obtain those streams (www.3fm.nl visual radio hangs after 20 seconds, as soon as the player wants to switch to a higher resolution).

The only ROM on which I have seen this working successfully is the Strauzo SDK2 ( 4.2 ) ROM.
Would like to know how Strauzo can make that, his 4.4.2 should also have working HLS, funny that he can do it and others cant..

I did not say h e supports it on 4.4.2. I said he supported it with his earlier 4.2 SDK2 rom

Yes, but I remember a thread about NHL gamecenter where streaming worked on his 4.4 but didnt on others :-(

Some strange sh*t to play with ;-)

                                have fun!
I agree all the kernals load and boot. Thanks

I do notice with all the kernals that there is an initial display of the desktop
then it goes blank and a second or two later the desktop returns and is stable

I have the Digital Clock widget on the desktop
On the first display the date is all scrunched up SAT8FEBRUARY
on the second display it correctly formatted with spaces
Not a big deal but may be relevant somewhere.
