its not a question of rom, its just your device that cant handle anymore than that.

I will flash a lot tonight since i have time, just the moment when i feel settles with this box, some strange issue pops up .
i'm ruuning kitkat 4.4.2 (1080p no oc) and it only takes 1-2 minutes to reboot after a crash. Strange though since i switched from wifi to ethernet i havent had a single crash. lol never mind just had a crash guess its got nothing to do with wifi, although it does do it far less then before.

            Hi,

Could someone with 4.4.2 ROM installed please test streaming video in the following apps?

            -NFL
            -AFL (may be Australia only)
-Sochi 2014 on Ten (may be Australia only)

Trying to play video in all of these apps on Quickshot makes the system crash. I just want to see if it applies to all X7 ROMs.

            Thanks

the latest 1080p oc kernels makes the launcher look and feel as is if its a column width to short. Just looks daft having big margins on the left and right hand side of the screen. were can i change this to add another column or 2?

                Launcher width

I do have to agree with that observation
There is a lot of spare real estate either side!!

However there are more important issues to be addressed first.

it tends to be strechted sometimes filling more space, but still with the same amount of icons. Strange stuff.

Gio has ported some comix cursors for 1080p to flash via recovery. They look awesome in this rom!

This Wasser KitKat 4.4.2 firmware runs really nice on the Minix X7. Beyond XBMX Beta 2.0 plays smooth. I only play 720p videos because my DSL speeds are 1.5mbps. For some reason the videos stop after playing 1 hour and I have to restart XBMC again to find the video in Ice films and start it again. I will experiment to figure out if a different version will correct it.

I found a strange problem with Ethernet. If I have Ethernet enabled on the Minix, but I boot up without the Ethernet cable connected, the Minix will not "Connect" to the network when I do plug the cable in. In the settings it still says "Unconnected". If you remove the cable and plug it in again, it "Connects" and works fine.

I can see this problem because we are having really bad snow and ice storms here and we loose power often. When the power comes back on, I guess the Minix powers up first, before the network is ready.

I experimented with the wifi and that works great. If I have wifi enabled / Ethernet disabled and power up the Minix without my Wifi router turned on, then 10 minutes later power on my wifi router, the Minix sees the network and connects automatically.

It would be great if this version of KitKat could handle the Ethernet the same way.

This is a very stable firmware otherwise.

EDIT: The kernel I currently have is called kernel.img from 1/11/2014 2:42pm 5062 kb
It is possible that the new version from 1/18/2014 10:55am 5080 kb has the Ethernet issue fixed. Will test this weekend!

I tried to flash my Minix X7 using the kernels on the front page, but was unsuccessful...

new kernels fix ethernet, wifi, bluetooth, ir-remote issue:
                        kernel-neox7-720p.zip
                        kernel-neox7-1080p.zip

I use the flash program included in the original firmware and used the v2.08 loader. After the flash, the 4 color circles started to do their dance then froze in the center. I tried several times on each kernel.

                        I then tried...

                        CPU: 1008/1200/1416/1608/1704/1800, DDR:720, GPU: 133/200/266/300/400/600, 720P
                        kernel-ddr720-cpu1800h-720p

and that worked but my screen keep pulsing between the normal kitkat colors and black.

I ended up going back and flashing the original firmware from 1/11/2014 2:42pm ( Kernel-minix-x7-110114-2.zip )

I wish I could have tried those new kernels to see if it fixed the Ethernet problem.

EDIT: If after flashing to a 720p rom and you see your screen pulsing and flashing, you will need to change the LCD_density to 160

                        Wasser says...
Please change the default lcd_density in /system/build.prop from 240 to 160 if you uses 720p kernel
                        ro.sf.lcd_density=240 -> ro.sf.lcd_density=160

Would very much appreciate if someone with this ROM already installed could quickly test video in the NFL App on this ROM for me, to save me the trouble of flashing . Thanks!

I can test it for you this weekend. Where is the NFL app???? I am in the US. Will that matter???
My internet connection at home is SUPER slow 1.5mbps . Hopefully that will not be a factor.

After trying to flash new Roms last night, I have to re install all of my software again. Will need to do a backup next time.
