I hope my chip has not failed and will keep working for a while...

I thought that maybe this cyxtech_cs918_8723_box_140731_8G2G kernel was not adapted to my cyx_V2.1 but to CYX_CS918 V2_3.

So I downloaded another one reported to be a cyx_V2.1 kernel: cyxtech_rk31_cs918_8723_140509_8G2G 旧版.

Seems that the problem was not related to the first rom :

I've readden that act8846 should be incoporated into the SOC... so it is normal if I could not see it on the board, right ?
Is this bad doctor ?

i gonna ask to other owners of this board if they can send their dmesg to know if it is a problem with all these board or only with mine.

ACT8846 is a discrete chip on the circuit board (quite small)

The problem is then that there is no voltage regulation for the key services

No, these are RK3188 kernels and only work with RK3188 ROMS.

I'm creating a RK3066 TV Stick ROM for RK901/RK903 wifi, might see if I can also get it working for 8188 Realtek wifi. If you PM me your dmesg and GPIO dump I can see if I can make a kernel for your device(RTL8723) to make it work with my ROM, I'm going to release shortly.

is there an easy way of doing this? or a link to somewhere that tells me?

It's an option on the 3.10.0 kernel but I haven't discovered a loader that will allow 3.10 kernels to be flashed to RK3188 SoCs

cyx_cs918 v2_1 gpio dumps

Hi d33,
Even if my board may be damaged, I gess that GPIOs still the same.
As wifi and bluetooth are working with those "online stock kernels", you'll find attached my GPIO dumps and dmesg. gpio.zip

I tried to use agpio.py provided by Gin here but I'm not convinced by its reliability as I got different results depending on the order of switching ON and OFF... So I gess it's better for you to have a look on the files.

I understand dear guys that this thread is dedicated in general to kernels for 3188 based devices, but I would like to ask you for friendly help with making KK kernel for this beautiful CX818 box with 3066 onboard.
It has been lying on my shelf since I bought it last summer. It was only one attempt by dear neomode to make 4.2.2 custom ROM for this device, but I wouldn't say it was perfect, nevertheless I'm much grateful to him.
All chips are signed out by me on the picture and one only which is soldered on the back side of the PCB is USB2.0 hub GL850G by Genesys Logic.


If you are ready I would be glad to post dmesg or any another log you need for making proper config and compiling the KK kernel for testing.
