Hey off topic sorry. This is driving me crazy! How do I stop freaktab from sending me emails when people post? I looked in settings and tried both "through control panel only" and "do not subscribe" for notifications for subscriptions. I get the little popup via Tapatalk so I really don't like email as well.

I'm sure its something simple I'm missing..

Still have a Weak Wifi reception after several updates

Hi everyone I was wondering since ive watched a couple of videos how to fix their Weak wifi on their M9pro... I have the non 3g version and wifi often drops on me specially whenever i play Asphalt 8..
I come to an end of fixing it though..
Now I wanted to know if anybody has tried to use a different wifi adapter instead of changing the small cables or by using a tape?
i have a broken old ZTE Blade and has a wider wifi adapter, so i took it out and im thinking of soldering it to tablet, then removing the old one.

What do you think? Any better ideas?

            Checksum anyone?

            Hi Randy,

Just downloaded 2.7.2 and updated from 2.6. So far so good though I do see the odd app issue (probably app related) and unsure whether wifi any more robust, GPS still problematic (ie no fix). Overall tablet seems 'snappier' and Antutu score went up to 19,996 from around 18,000 before. I also do get the odd 'sound click' as it starts (but who cares about this!). Cast screen still does not connect (but gets close).

One question though - why not give a checksum figure so people can double check if they have downloaded correctly? I appreciate that the file is not that large but I do wonder whether some reported issues are corrupt downloads rather than differing hardware or a function of apps running. Just a thought...... I would be happy to put up instructions on how to check the checksum on a Windows PC.

            Thanks for all the work.

              Antutu benchmark

What are people using to check this? As it seems different apps provide different results! Had anyone tested this with different apps to see how different the results are and is there a favourite out there?

                Some notes

I have flashed RR 2.7.2 after been for a long time on stock rooted and then on Finless 1.5 from its cooking. Meanwhile I have tried some previous RR Roms, never keeping them more than a day or two due to certain serious for me issues.
I am now on 2.7.2 for 2-3 days and theese are my notes so far:
                1. Gps is working better than ever (7-9 of 10-12 sats, locking for the first time within some 4-5 mins) without any tips or tricks. It was not working with any RR Rom, besides all tips I have tried but it was working with the stock rom and Finless 1.5.
                2. Compass is not working, it has a declination 90-180 degrees and calibration does not have any affect. It was not working too with RR 2.6, working well with stock or Finless.
                3. My usb 3G dongle is working as well as with stock or Finless but not with RR 2.6.
                4. "Downloads" app is crashing (the message is "Unfortunately android.process.media has stopped") and at the same time if a third party launcer is used i.e. Apex, the tablet reverts to stock launcher.
                5. The noticed "Quickoffice" issue.
                6. Apps using camera sensor (Magnify, Camscanner, Barcode scanner) are freezing.
                7. TWRP poorely working, it takes too much time to respond.
Battery lasts almost one and a half day -always did- but I dont care, I have the charger on, every night! (Keep up Colin!!!)
                I'll keep watching!

Umm... I may be missing something in your post but if someone quotes the Antutu score then they should be using the Antutu app (latest version). There are other benchmarking apps but then you would quote their name and the score they gave. I have run other benchmark apps eg Androbench (which seems to rate the memory read/writes fairly low whereas Antutu says Ram excellent). I tend to quote Antutu as this seems the most commonly used.

                    how long does it last

Hey Desmor - - I was hoping to be able to use a tablet for work - to enable me NOT to have a laptop with me when travelling (for instance) My foray into Chinese tablets has been an excellent educational experience, BUT I have come to the conclusion that in order to have a tablet that will actually last for more than whole day (yup, I would like to keep my charger by the bed, BUT I need to take it with me) one needs to buy a tablet with longer than a few hours battery life when collecting emails from wifi. Turning OFF wifi when at work sort of defeats the object of getting your emails when they are sent - and yes, I know I could use my phone, but I WANT to use a tablet. So, for just about everything else these Pipo tablets are excellent, but in my opinion (and it is ONLY my opinion) it is about as useful as a coffee mat for business. Friends Ipads, Xperias and Samsungs ALL work very well for a very long time WITH Wifi switched on when sleeping- MY Pipo M9pro does not. So, whilst my friends are most impressed with the price I paid and the sleek looks of my tablet they laugh at the fact I have to carry it around in a bag with its extra long USB cable and charger!! - and these are CHINESE friends who have never heard of the brand!! So, I DO care but I keep on trying and testing. There is a faint chance that one day someone (either at PIPO, or elsewhere) will be able to fix the problem (that only I seem to have !!) I am keeping an eye on Pipo, Randy, Bob and also OmniRom just in case. In the meantime I keep on testing and learning (and checking out prices for a 12.2Pro tablet (or bigger!!))
                    Cheers for now,
                    Colin.

                      It goes forever!!

Well folks, I think I have cracked it!! More research on the net yesterday uncovered the runtime option ART. (settings/developer options/select runtime....) I switched from Dalvic to ART, rebooted and waited. After all apps were recompiled all was OK. Last night the tablet went to sleep on 33% battery - 8 hours later I woke it up and it was still on 33% !!! I checked emails - yes, it had collected 10 emails over night with ZERO battery drain - I will post the battery stats picture when I can work out how to get it up there! Flat line for 8 hours WITH WIFI on!! I am stunned and VERY HAPPY. However, the cynical bugger in me is going to keep testing to make sure it really is working.

Here's the screenshot from last night. I will do the same next time the tablet is fully charged.
                      Cheers for now,
                      Colin.

Nice, I thought this was something Google was testing only with the nexus 5 and was gonna roll it out in next major update.. I was using this for a while on my n5, was faster but had to go back to dalvik cause my Pandora unlimited apk wouldn't work on art lol

I was crossing my fingers as it recompiled all the apps - in fact it rebooted half way through, but carried on after the boot. I have not tested ALL apps yet, but so far, so good! It seems it is no longer limited to only the Nexus 5 (which I have been contemplating buying to replace the note, as I am now on 4G here in China) - BUT I need to get hold of one that has the correct radio to get 4G here - unfortunately its not the same as in my native UK ! - off topic I know, but ART is not! Incidentally, I got an Antutu score of 19445 before changing and 18849 after - but, as the great British comic Katherine Tate said 'am I bothered??' !! Battery charging seems to be quicker as well, but all in good tie, I will do some real tests over the next week.
                          Cheers,
                          Colin.

I also received a lower antutu score with ART than with dalvik, but you could tell ART ran faster.. Not that the N5 is slow by any means..it just seemed faster..maybe antutu isn't yet optimized for the new runtime

That happend here also, but it kept happening after every reboot. So I suggest you reboot it a couple of times to see what's the picture then. Althought that was with the 2.6 version. And since it took forever to rebuild all my apps and data, I swiched back to dalvik.

Full specifications of teh $135 ZTE Redbull V5 smartphone with Snapdragon 400 processor, 4G LTE and dual sim support!
