I downloaded "qs3.1-x7-en.rar" and it contains "update.img", and lots of other stuff, can I include that with the kernel zip for Quickflasher? I am not sure how to begin.
I am currently running an old Finless rom, 1.6 I think. But want to upgrade to KitKat. I think I understand how to use Quickflasher, but I am not sure what files I need to put in the Quickflasher folder.Originally posted by pawnslinger View PostThe thread is 25 pages long at this point today... that is quite a lot of reading. While I'd truly like to read all of that, it really isn't likely that enough time exists.
How about this, I installed the Finless rom with the device drivers that he provided. He included a Vista driver in his bundle (which is the OS I am using). Can I just install the .img files from your package with the software provided by Finless to install his?? If so, that would be ideal.
Alternatively, is there any other way to install Nitro using Vista? If not, I can go on to something else.Originally posted by pawnslinger View PostOkay, but there are different drivers for XP and Win7 (the qs package has both), which should I use with Vista.
I did a search on this thread for "Vista" and could only find our messages. The other messages you refer to must be in another thread... or different topic.
Back to my issue... since I have the driver that Finless uses installed, must I get rid of it? Or can your software use the RK dirver that he is using? In which case, this becomes a non-issue.
EDIT: 3º post fixed.

Is it possible to take the same approach as the «USB audio player» and bypass all the Minix audio section to avoid file downsampling ?
Regards,
and although unsuccessful I received great feedback by stafsfrom (where are U ?).

As soon as I have some time available, I will carry out further tests with QS3.1/KitKat.
In the dmesg log the HDMI is reported to allow for multiple high-res sound formats (since
my A/V received advertises them), so I think there is still some room for hope
(without the expense of a USB DAC...)

Upload download speeds reversed
I did a speakeasy net speed test today using Dolphin browser and my Upload speed is 4X faster than my Download.I did the same test on my laptop and it is as expected in which my Download and faster than Upload.
Anyone have the same issue. This could explain why my World Cup streams keeps buffering.
<--World Cup logo!
Nevermind...something to do with my switch (tomato firmware router) settings that is causing it. Still have not figured it out yet.Last edited by jacknjill10101; 20 June 2014, 21:32.

Hi,
I have received today my minix X7 and the first thing I did was installing quicksoht V3.1
But I have a lot of flickering.
Tried the kernel for solving the problem, things are a little better, but I am not satisfied at all.
So, I would like to try Quickshot V2.
I read that I have to run flash tool for quicksoht V3 (KK) and Erase NAND, and then run flash tool for Quickshot V2 (JB) for installation.
BUT, In the tool I used to install the rom (RKDeviceManage) I don't have any button to erase NAND.
How can I come back to Quickshot V2 without bricking my minix ?
thanks for your help

Hi Demasiado.
I am reading about asound and ALSA, etc.. Could you please tell me how to access the dmesg log.
For those with a 24-96 + capable receiver, you can get USB to optical and coax sound converter for about 40$ on ****. Search CM6631 USB. The chip is quite cabable 2 channel 32 bit , 192 kHz but the audio will probably be limited by the spidf (coax optical) spec wich are 24 bit 96 kHz. The board use USB 5V supply but an externel supply would be better. I have a DAC based on that chip and I had problem with the USB 5 V on my PC. No driver are required (Linux build-in). Use with USB audio player .
The CM6632 chip is a USB multichannel chip but I have not find any DAC or converter base on that chip yet. HDMI would be the real option.

DTS passthrough via optical
Originally posted by leolas View Post
here are them. Pasthrough is working good with my device using spdif.
The XBMC System/Audio settings screen looks different though !
I did a clean install of QS3.1 so I should have the fixed libmedia.so and XBMC version...
Same story with MX Player with latest custom codec.. no DTS to my receiver

I installed a sshd server on the X7 so I have full shell access with many commands including dmesg.
Otherwise, there are a few apps for dmesg, although I did not try any of them...
