I'm facing same problem like luckystar14379and zvoddy23.
When tablet is connected to comp.(Win 8.1 x64 bit) or to notebook (Win 7 x32 bit) just connects/reconnects for 3-4 times, then starts to charge ..not visible in device manager.
With MtkDroid Tools is impossible to do anything, just "The device isn't revealed" message.
After I loaded scatter file in SPFlash Tool, pushed Download button. after that connected tablet to USB 2.0 port and surprise .. Whole ROM was flashed without connect/disconnect problem.
I managed to flash v.1.8 _2014.08.19 without problems (SPFlash Tool was set in Download Only mode)..IMEI is Ok
After that ...same problem with connect/disconnect, tablet not detected in Device Manager and cannot backup nothing with MTKDroid.
When is powered On (in USB storage mode) is just fine no disconnects...so is not a USB connector/cable malfunction.
Tried with 4 diferent USB cables, USB 2.0/3.0 port..even restored my Windows installation on notebook with Acronis to a fresh install state and loaded manually drivers from V.1.6 version..no result.
My Cube has comed with firmware version v1.8(4 July2014) preinstalled (32 GB black version S/N U65GT32GB143087...)
Could be another hardware version since I'm not alone here with this kind of problem?
We are all now waiting weekend for new reworked rom.

Few of us already flashed this new v.1.8 but everybody here in "silencio stampa".
What i have found in this new ROM:
1.Chrome - still not working (UC Browser HD - Incompatible with tablet on Market).
2.Dolphin browser - not loading all pages and makes tablet really hot during browsing time.
3.Calendar app - impossible to sync with my Google calendar from other devices.
4.Battery - more accurate.
5.External SD card formatted in NTFS or exFat - not supported by default.
6.First GPS fix - in ~ 10 sec. with 3 meters accuracy.
All 3 or 4 cons. are not entirely ROM fault..maybe Chrome and Dolphin are not optimized for new MTK SoC.
One in all, this new ROM is 100% stable ... no lag and not too many bugs visible to me in two days.
Regards, Edy.

Hi
this is my personnal experience with my Cube tablet.
I have a 16Gb version and I purchased a 64Gb SD card to extend it (class 10 from Sandisk – SDHC Extrem model).
First, I was very impressed by the hardware configuration and how this tablet is beautiful for a so low price (I got it for 150€ in Aliexpress, and it came at home only 10 days after).
But I didn’t like very much the OS, especially the skin and the icons. So I did my own configuration, I now I have the perfect tablet I was looking for so far !
First I flashed it with the 900supersport Custom ROM with the 4Gb modified EBR in order to have more space for the /data, and the CWM recovery. Than I have installed the SD Write access permission patch.
I swapped the internal SD with the external SD in order to use only my 64Gb to store application data (in the setting, the external SD is called internal USB and is set as default storage). To swap, I had to unpack boot.img ROM file, edit some files inside, repack and flash it back. I also have added a line to activate OTG.
The internal SD has now 6.45Gb space, but I don’t use it. I someone knows how to build EBR files for this device in allocate more space to the /data, it would be very appreciated !
First app I have installed is LBE Security (english version from xda forum). This app is incredible when the root mode is activated. It is a must in term of security. Just by blocking the autolaunch of the applications, the battery autonomy is the double (depends of the number of apps you have).
In order to change the skin and the icons, I just installed Apex from the PlayStore. I configured Apex in Tablet mode, with 8x8 icons (in both landscape and portrait mode), with small upper and lower margins. Nothing more, I keep the default Apex skin which looks good for me.
I have installed Xposed Framework and Gravitybox module in order to customize few things: volume button don’t change the phone volume anymore (but the system volume now), in landscape mode volume- and + buttons are inverted, the quick shortcuts are personalized to my need, etc…
I had to install the experimental version of xposed, and the gravity module from it. With the stable version, it didn’t work.
All Gravitybox options are not working on this device, but those which are working are quite good.
I also installed the light patch, to start at 4% instead of 30% of brightness. But in Auto mode, it seems that it continue to start at 30%.
I have installed “MTK Enginering Mode Start” from the store. I used it to increase the max volume limit of the speakers (max to 160), and to reduce it for the headsets.
The only negative point is the navigator, but this more due to Google than Cube. Google decided to not support anymore flashplayer. So the only way to get it, was to install the patched version of flash from xda and Dolphin browser. It works, but Dolphin is quite slow compared to the standard browser. So I use both ... (Chrome is not working, but remember that Flash is not supported anymore in Chrome under kitkat)
This device is incredible compare to the price. I am really satisfied by my purchase!
