Can you tell us if either the new ICS or JB rom will have 1080p support, and if they still suffer from the a/v sync issues ? Those would be my two main concerns...

I agree. Flash is dead and I am fine with leaving the unit on. I just want it to perform at the level advertised.

I installed the Finless ROM but WIFI wouldn't turn on at all no matter how I tried. It was working before, but weak signal. Can someone please help? Thank you!

just wanted stop by and thank you for your finless 1.4 rom. i just got it and connected it. Did the wi fi mod and i just want to say if i can pick up wi fi from my neighbors house anyone with wifi in there own home shouldnt have much of a problem. sometimes it cuts in and out i just disable the wifi and turn it back on works. i used a wifi booster (software) i know bob you have a bias againist this but before i downloaded was getting a very very slow connection downloaded and bam started working quickly. the app i download was made by mcstealth. thanks again and waiting for tomorrow.

Wat are the improvments in 1.5 vs 1.4 and is it necessary to install 1.5

Will you be able to list the improvements in 1.5 over 1.4 Rom on the first page?
I have installed 1.4 and did WIFI mod and it is great. I donot want to re-install a new ROM, unless it is necessary. Please let us know.

Update Flash Player ?

Is there any possibility to update the Flash-Player ?
I want to access several german TV-Chanels e.g VOX NOW but get a message to update the Flash Player.
I tried different Browsers, but all the same.

My 1.5 ROM will have flash removed completely. This will allow you to install any version you need!
It will have the China mobile fix as promised.

Now I may have some of you BETA test some fixes I would like to try for the video sync issues.
So expect this to be a BETA ROM to start.

VIdeo quality

Hi bob, first of all, thank for all your work. it make devices like this dynamic, alive and fun ( compare to 'closed boxes' as WDTV and XtreamePro).
As for the WI-FI issues, I replaced the internal antenna with an external one. well, there is just a small improvement. web surfing and on-line vids are loading faster, but streaming from another computer is still unusable. even I get (most of the time) full bar displayed on the wi-fi meter. the router is 3 feet away.

What's bother me most right now, is the video quality of this device. I own a XtramerPro and a Samsung smart TV which both plays high quality video. One of the reasons I bought the UG802 is to have more control and freedom to choose players. unfortunately, the rendered video quality is far inferiors to the 2 others. the image is way too dark and contrasted and the image is choppy, not to mention the audio sync issues.
Does any one have notice that as well?
Is this an hardware issue or software one?
I read somewhere that the MK802 produces a better image quality.

last one: after upgrading to the 1.4 ROM, I have noticed strange 'clicks' sounds, like mouse clicks, even when I don't touch the mouse. it stops after I reboot. and btw, after rebooting with the new reboot app I can't turn on the wi-fi. only after hard reboot.

p.s. of course I will be happy to test rom 1.5 as well.

those fragmented sounds i'm getting sometimes too. no matter what rom! guess its the same kernel issue as with audio/video sync. strange thing is i cannot reproduce those sounds. in one session (turn on/off) i'm having them, in the other one they dont happen. but the device seems to be very busy at those times, as i feel that droidmote is struggeling and not moving mouse smoothly in those situations too...
movie quality is another thing, i would be happy if it would play movies reliable at least! ;-)
