VNC vs droidmote.

OK just to clairfy the different. VNC repeats the ug802 TV screen onto your tablet. Running at full resolution it's pretty laggy. Do not expect to watch a movie like this. But your touch on the tablet will show up on your TV. Again though it is pretty laggy. Even playing angry birds as a simple test the lag is noticed. The reason is the ug802 has to transmit the screen frame by frame to the tablet. Thats a lot of data. But it does work for simple things like browsing, playstore etc. But again anything requiring instant feedback doesnt work that well due to the lag.

Droidmote does not work this way. Think of it like a mouse or pointing device. You dont see anything on the tablet screen other than the tools it provides e.g. you don;t see the TV screen on your tablet. So in essence, your are remotly controlling the ug802 as if it had a touch screen in a way. The ug802 is not transmitting screens back to your table so you do not see on the tablet what the TV shows. Again more like a remote mouse pointer. When you touch the tablet screen, you see the pointer on the TV screen move around. So you look at the TV and move your finger around on the tablet without looking at the tablet. This in fact makes it fast and real time! That why droidmote can play games, etc at full speed interaction.

I have not tried a 1080P video yet, but youtube videos play just fine. I also tried other
video files and they play fine.

Just a note and I will tell you this. NONE of the pirated droidmote APKs out there work. The server needs to check in on the web and it wont start unless your on the latest version and licensed. I spent a day working with a guy only to find he was trying to cheat and get it for free. Waste of my time and I was kinda PO'ed.
So if it is not working it's not because of my ROM

I dont understand the issue with uinput?
I used VNC to the 802 from my tablet and it works which means uinput must be there. I have not purchased droidmote so maybe some issue there I do not know.

As for the other stuff, I will be working on this stuff this week time permitting. Hang in there please.

Bob, thx for you reply! I do not use the droidmote, so I'm not worry about it. Does the uinput
controls the usb peripherals such as: ethernet, mouse, keyboard, etc. that gets plugged in to the
device?

I'm very happy with your rom, no question about that you did some good work on this. Somebody i got the app from, but now i know why it doesn't work. I thought i did something wrong, and it had to do something about uinput. Im going to buy the app myself Thanks.

Just to be clear as well :-)
My version of VNC Server allows you to turn off the screen updates Bob is talking about.
Alt-P toggles the screen updates on/off. I wrote it before droidmote was out and I really wanted that fast update feature.

That said, I still use droidmote as well because it is a great program.

Full screen in games!!

Im wondering if there is an app that can switch to full screen and hide ics bar when playing games? I tried hide bar but i cannot switch bar back on after hiding it. I saw some custom roms on the mk802 have option in display settings. Would be nice if finless rom also have the option in future.

Wifi Broken

Hi,

I installed droidmote server in my ug802, but it didn't work, because of a crc error. I read in xda that installing busybox would solve that problem. I do so, and then droidmote apparently worked, but after that wifi didn't work anymore, I couldn't enable wifi.

I've re-installed finless rom by the easy and the hard way, but I can't enable wifi yet. What can I do?

Problem solved, I've turn on again the UG802 and now it has wifi enabled.

By the way, how do you control de UG802 with an android mobile?

How can i install droidmote server from Google play? When I perform a search in my UG802 it only appears droidmote client, it seems droidmote server isn't compatible with this device.
