Thank you! I thought so! So the other people having issues are not doing something right and assuming uinput.ko is not there when in fact as tested by me, it is there!

Thanks again for helping me show others that uinput is not the issue

Vielen Dank für Ihre Hilfe Alex

Droidmote works great for me as well. I really have no problems with this ROM except minor issues with hiding the system bar and A/V sync. I'm hoping that JB fixes the A/V sync at least.

I have a feature request finless if you can... i would like the ability to mount loop devices in the kernel. i noticed another user on this thread who said they chroot loaded ubuntu, but i can't seem to get it to work in the v1.4 rom because of a lack of kernel ability to mount a loop device. every time i try, it gives an error of "mounting .... failed invalid argument". my directory names are correct, if i try to run the linux on android complete launcher or a terminal loop mount command "busybox mount -o loop /mnt/external_sd/ubuntu/ubunutu.img /mnt/linux", i get the error. how do i check for loop support in the kernel? is it possible to add it in? also, how do we add true 1080p as a resolution? it only goes up to 720p despite telling me its 1080p.

I get true 1080p on the 1080p display setting... I'm not sure why you wouldn't. Make sure the settings on your TV/monitor are correct.

i hate to say it, but you think you are getting 1080p. Your TV reports its 1080p just like mine does, but load xbmc or antutu benchmark or android system info and you will see it is 1280x600 something...you lose a little vertical res cause of the status bar. if your ug802 is behaving differently, i would be more than surprised and will beg you for your kernel and firmware
i also cant edit my pixel density down to 120. i can change it in the build.prop or use lcd denisty changer and it still is at 160. on my mk802 (allwinner cpu) i have it set to 1080p @ 120dpi and it looks and works great.

Oooh, I see what you're saying. The UG802 is outputting in 1080p, but video cannot be seen in 1080p. The problem is the system bar. If you install hidebar you can get 1080p resolution. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow you to show the bar again, and it's a tad glitchy, but I'm dealing with it for now. I watch netflix in full hd all the time. Hopefully in the near future Finless Bob or someone else can figure out how to toggle the system bar more effectively.

thats not what i mean..true 1080p is 1920x1080 pixels res. ug802 outputs 1280x672 pixels res. even when set to 1080p and even when tv reports it to be 1080p it is really 1280x672. hidebar only makes it 1280x720.

Yes, I noticed that too, even when in android-settings you configure hdmi to 1920x1080p@60hz, all apps (xbmc, antutu, quadrant) , recognize a (slightly less than) 720p resolution. I must admit it looks more like 1080p to me, maybe the apps get the wrong info from android ?

We are getting 720p. I'm using the UG802 on a 24" monitor and it's very easy to tell the difference between 1080p and 720p, no settings get us 1080p at the moment, the apps are telling us the truth about the screen size.

Well then the specs retailers use to sell the device are in fact false advertising, right ? Is this a hardware or software issue ?

this is false advertising, but seeing as how chinese factories aren't really advertising...they don't have to obey our laws and there is nothing any of us can do about it. but....it is a software issue. i believe it is a kernel issue. the kernel has to be compiled to allow for resolution switches and whatnot. and i don't think the ug802 kernel is setup for 1080p. my mk802 uberoid kernel is compiled for 1080p and it does it very well.
