      Weird "clicks"

It seems that the "clicks" occurs when I switch to 1920x1080, either 50 or 60 Hz. at lower res. it is quite.

I have just upgraded with the Apad.tv ROM, same same. still disappointing video quality and audio sync. problem.

Video SYNC BETA ROM uploading now

FYI, I am uploading a new ug802 1.5 BETA ROM now.
This will be for trying to fix the video/audio sync issues nothing more.

Stay tuned for a new POST for BETA testers only.

USE questions should be in a NEW post please!

Hey you guys asking questions about how to do this or that with the ug802.
IT WOULD BE FAR BETTER if you make a new thread and post the question!
Having your unrelated non-ROM questions in this ROM thread will just get lost in the shuffle. This thread is for my ROM not general questions.

So make new posts etc I think you will get far more people seeing and discussing those questions!

            Just a suggestions guys,
            Bob

              Bob
i'm using booth. prefer the app of course but sync is out in booth... the web based still is flash, i guess and so is sound with all flash based streams out of sync.

AFAIK it needs the fix for the store but I downloaded a ROM that was already patched.

                  SMB support and missing modules

                  Hi Bob,

I have been using your 1.4 rom for a week now and it is working good and I don't have any sync issues. (Applied your wifi fix too) The problem I am having is related to connecting to my NAS storage and media server. Everytime I try streaming a video or download a file from an SMB share, the network speed drops significantly (~30Kbps). My NAS and media server works fine and serves high speed to other devices in the network. The internet download speed is around 12Mbps which is the broadband bandwith I have here. After searching a little, some people say that the Cifs.ko, md4.ko and nls_utf8.ko modules needs to be added to the rom for better network and SMB performance. I was wondering if this is correct and/or is it possible to add these modules to the rom at some point?

                  Thanks

This is quite possible but I am working on other issues now and will for sure look into adding those KO modules over time. Sorry I cant help at this time but I do know exactly what your asking
The hard part maybe finding precompiled KO modules your asking about that work with this kernel. Thats always the harder part!

I hope ugoos is watching what is going on here! It's a shame we USERS have to fix this shit
But keeps me busy in the end.

I have found these two set of modules that claim to be built for the same kernel version but I couldn't get them to load since my changes are not preserved in init.rc after boot.

OK and I JUST posted this a few hours ago but this thread moves fast.

Go to google play and get an app called mount manager. This app allows you to insmod KO modules and set them on boot so they can be installed on every reboot. You can then try these KO modules and see if they work!

I have tried cifsmanager which in theory does the same thing but didn't work. I'll try that app. Thanks

If the KO modules wont load, then they are not compiled for your SDK version or kernel. Thats one of the problems we all have when trying to add KO modules to a ROM. That is, finding KO modules that will work!

Ha! "Bob ROM." I don't know why that makes me chuckle. Maybe because it reminds me of some old 50's song or I could be thinking of Titan AE and Cale calling the new Earth, "Planet Bob".
