think ive worked out the cec edid issue, i have 2 boxes m8n and m8, m8n works for resolution change but m8 doesnt even when using the same version of openelec.

What's the difference between the 2?

Tried Beta3 on MXIII 2G:
- no wifi
- stock RC not working

but good thing, HEVC (h.265) working very well on my MXIII without stuttering.

Yeah, the stock remote doesn't work on all builds when using the MXIII. I didn't even notice until you mentioned it as CEC works so well

- no wifi

but good thing, HEVC (h.265) working very well on my MXIII without stuttering.

Flashed again and wi-fi now works. I really like to see Helix in this build.

I have a theory why cec and screen resolution isnt working on some boxes and working on others. The recovery files being used for the build are sourced from stane who is using m8n files . If you have a m8 box with no N on the bottom this could be why its not working , i think the m8 has a different recovery file etc

just a theory im sure codesnake should be able to clarify if this could be a cause.

possibly different board revisions have diff, gpio locations etc

if i flash the box direct from memory card i get debugging shell error tty job control turned off but when i flash the box using the built in recovery it works and boots up no issue.

I have a m8 without n that works fine with hdmi etc and also have another one without n that doesnt, which is why i was suggesting board revision
