It didn't work with ug007 and finless 1.7 or 1.5 but works with the stock rom.

Then it may be the firmware i am using ,Can you please tell me which firmware are you using ?

CWM install failure-- new mk808b android 4.2.2

I have just received a new mk808b running stock rom Android 4.2.2.
In the past I have installed quite a few cwm recovery using zip file update as described in the first post of this thread without any problems.
Today however I got an new MK808b firmware round about 3/25/13 if I remember correctly. I tried to install using correct??? update.zip and got the following errors
"Assert failed :getprop("ro.product.device") =="rk3066"||getprop("ro.product.device")=rk3
installation aborted"
Ne1 know what the problem might be----maybe wrong update.zip but I am pretty sure that its an original mk808b not the clone

The 4.2.2 defines the device with other name, we need to modify the zip removing in the script the assert line.

Tried to remove first line but now get invalid package obviously I screwed the zip although I used 7zip and did not unpack---can someone post a corrected update.zip for mk808b orig with 4.2.2 stock rom

If it didnt work too I need you upload your build.prop file in /system and the default.prop in / and i will try to make a script who can fit your device specification.
Or you can use a very symple way and flash recovery.img from the zip with rk flash tools include in all finless roms downloads.

Leolas thanx for help but just tried using your version u uploaded and get same error I got "invalid package"
Shall I uplpad the 2 files u mentioned?

"not a valid update package" once again -I tried earlier putting the same line but without success. Is the file like an apk which has to be resigned I see a file called manifest?? so therefore it is not valid??

Then sorry, I noticed that the new 4.2.2 comes with a new recovery, the new one seems not accept the old format, so we need to unpack the rom(I made it before, and is not difficult) unpack the new recovery (I unpacked the old one, dont know if the new one can be unpacked in the same way), search how this new recovery works to accept the zip to install,etc... Sorry is a lot of more easy to connect the device to the pc and flash only the recovery.img.
