Wow! RIGHT as I wrote the above post, RC2 was released! Thanks Wasser! I will try it out asap!

Edit:

RC2 is by far the best firmware ever released for this box. Netflix is running smoothly; still problems with encoding in Popcorn time on certain films (Popcorn time reports hardware encoding failure), but OS seems to run smoothly so far. Maybe better support for hardware encoding in the future.

Has anyone installed xposed framework on this rom and succeeded? I'm still getting bootloop. Applications updates and than device restarts on starting apps screen.
I'm at tronsmart R28.

I've tried all the xposed frameworks that I can find and so far have not found one that works.

Just installed the RC2 on the Firefly RK3288 - just took all imgs files +the Wasser parameter file. All worked flawlessly.
Speed and wifi are faster than ever, very impressed. I could even install youmap to make it a chromecast receiver.

Here is what I can report when it comes to possible enhancement:
=> USB Audio is not working (the sound driver is loaded, I can use alsa play to play music to it, but android won't let me choose this output within the sound devices list).
=> Webcam Logitech C270 works with Hangout and the Camera app. However in Hangout the mic is not working (not the mic from the webcam, nor the mic from the firefly pcb)

edit: I also tried to plug my Usb Audio DAC to my Nexus 5 phone with an OTG cable. It works directly. From my understanding, in Lolipop the system auto redirect all the sound to the dac if it gets found (cf the option "disable dac audio redirect) from the dev options. On this Rom this doesn't do it, even when using the audio_policy from my nexus 5).

Here's a trick to get it to work:
1) go to the HDMI settings page and highlight the 4k option, but do not select it.
2) unplug the HDMI cable
3) press select button on remote (even though you can't see anything on the screen)
4) plug the HDMI cable back in

That's it. It should work now even after a reboot.

Date and time wrong, since I installed the latest RC2, but everything else working great including WIFI, I have to turn off the network auto update for date and time, anyone else with that problem?

Hello, does anybody know why it does not work codec HW with the program MX Player with RC2 (the sound does not work with DD and DTS codecs HW, HW +) with RC1 DD and DTS worked with HW Codec. ?

When i install the rc2 firmware on my ubox R89 it stuks at bootlogo. Only the beta 6 will work the others stuck on bootlogo. Anyone a solution for this kind of problem?

I have some issue with surround sound with this rom (3.0.0 rc2)

I can't get proper surround sound working.
The android output audio is set to HDMI bitstream
I try with Kodi 15.1 and SPMC 14.2

in kodi :
with passtrough + DTS/AC3:
surround sound but there is some cuts every few seconds

in spmc:
with passtrough + DTS/AC3
sound is only big noise !

without passtrough on kodi and SPMC sound is ok but no surround.


did surround sound works with you ?
