bluesmanuk..... just wondering bro ; are you aware of any LOLLIPOP-based rom that supports spdif passthrough ( DTS and DD) using optical cable? tried many , but to no avail.... i love the video play quality on those , but unfortunately the spdif passthrough is a must.... thanks in advance

      Thanks.
I´m not sure if you are talking about of R89 built-in mic, for me it´s working ( I had tested with sound / voice recorder app, with google voice search and with skype and It´s working fine).

        Perhaps, because I have Tronsmart.

          Hi Wasser!

I described once a problem with your firmware 3.x with MX Player playback and "OK" button on native remote control (Beelink R89/16Gb)
MX Player doesnt react on "OK" button during playback in button mode. It is very not comfortable. (The problem persists on 2.0.9a as well).
On all other FWs the button "OK" works fine bringing a control interface to foreground.
How it is possible to fix it?
I tried to replace kl-files from firmware that works with no success.
Now I use 2.0.9a because rkRemoteControl doesnt work on 3.0
So for now it is a biggest problem for me on 2.0.9a.
          Please, help with an advice.
Key code for "OK" button is 66.

When SPDIF is selected then video will not play at all with MX Player and default player, although switching to HW+ in MX enables the video to play.. Kodi, SPMC, BS Player and Archos player will show the video element.

4k files also don't play as quiate as smoothly all the way through as they did in RC2 in general terms with more micro and at times more substantial stuttering.

General operation of the UI and WiFi/Ethernet performance is as it was in RC2.
bluesmanuk, please download the audio_policy.conf , overwrite the /system/etc/audio_policy.conf and reboot the device. Please test it with MX Player, Kodi, SPMC, BS Player, Archos player and default player (rockchip player) and give me feedback if spdif works

            Thanks

Nothing that works as well as with KK but I do think that things are very close to happening.

                Hello wasser.

With RC2 I cannot direct play AC3 and DTS in Plex (a problem that keeps coming every few firmware releases)

RC3 release notes state that it's fixed but it isn't.

With RC1 it was working fine.

Just a reminder, I am using a tronsmart Orion R28 Pro.

regarding kk based ; OHC 1.03 is having spdif passthrough support via mxplayer (latest version) as well as spmc 15.0....

                    my own simple observation ; for the beelink R89 ;
KK roms: video stutter , but with spdif passthrough support in most of them (optical cable to an a.v receiver).....
LP roms: smooth and higher quality video play , but with no spdif passthrough support..... , and in some cases , even the video file itself won't play...
the temporal remedy for having a video play with minimal stutter but with spdif passthrough audio would be using : wasser's kk roms (2.0.7 to 2.0.9a) , ut3-220 r28 patch rom (using mxplayer 1.7.34 and it's codecs patch , also using spmc 15.0). another rom would be OHC 1.03 (not 1.02 or even 1.04).....
the ugoos stage roms seem to have an issue with vpn services...

                      Wasser

No SPDIF output from any app but MX Player does play the video element now and far smoother.

Up until a couple of weeks ago I was using an OHC ROM with OC kernel and it worked very well but then I tried this one recently.

It did the job for me when it came to using SPMC, so that became my new number one KK for the moment.

thanks a lot bro.... on the contrary; to me since i love using mxplayer for video files playback ; i loved using OHC 1.03 with mxplayer 1.7.40.
Ut3-220-r28patch can't do optical passthrough with mxplayer 1.7.40 , but for some weird reason it delivers it right with version 1.7.34....!!!
Kindly check out their latest rom ut3-221 (i don't know though if the power off function via remote would work on or not)

Ok, this is other matter; which is not working is the "camera" and this include the usb camera microphone. I had tested the logitech c170 and the camera app report "error comunicating or connecting to the camera"; may be there is a problem with the usb-web cam drivers on this 3.0.0 RC3 or the driver is not present on this release; sure Wasser will take note of this problem. I don´t know before with the previous lollipop releases because I just jump directly from KK 2.0.8 to this RC3. Which I found strange here in this lollipop rom as well it´s if there are several audio input devices, for example a couple of mics, there is not an option to select which one would be the preferred input audio device, only can be selected the audio output devices.
However these problems, OTG port problem & web cams (and the reported problem from people using SPDIF passthrough) the system performance and video playback capabilities are a big step forward comparing to kk rom, the stuttering had disapeared here, it´s like we have a new tv box with this rom.
