Do you means that you had just accepted OTA update ,and then fail to boot? After accept OTA update it will download image and reboot into recovery mode to update , and then auto reboot to enter system.which step says failure as your remember ?
It seems software not works. Need an USE A-A male cable to update.
thanks

90% of the time I get a "Burn firmware failed" message
The box never reboots when I have a successful flash. I have to remove the power cable then try and reboot manually but that hasnt worked either?
I was playing around with an X2 the other day and also found that after a flash using the SD card the box would invariably not power up afterwards and that I had to remove the power cable and let it stand for half an hour before it would boot up correctly.
I also encountered the burn failed message a couple of times, so it it a little hit and miss.
Flashing with the cable does work though once you go through the correct process, although sticking pins in little holes in the vase of these products is a pain at times and there should be an easier way, or at least better positioning of the reset holes.

The thing concerning me is that I cant get the box to turn on so how do I flash via Micro SD?
What you will likely find is that if you are able to successfully create an SD card flashing image that when you pop it into the X2, it will magically come to life upon it's detection.
I found that on more then one occasion where the box didn't look as if it wanted to come to life.

Can any of the images from here http://www.tabletexpress.com/tablet.html?brand=272&p=3
be used to flash the X2?

You may well find that some of the driver components will be different and therefore find functions that do not work.
They do however have a Karaoke option in the top right hand corner where is says 'Sing in'
Either that or they have a novel new voice activated sign in option.
