Flashed the box with the 106k4 image and it took. BUT the box just stays with a blue light and no picture on screen. I definitely think its a hardware fault?

KPat, plug it into a computer monitor. Just got mine out of red light mode by flashing, we'll give it a few days and see where we're at.

I would like to bitch about the AA USB cable. I have a tupperware FULL of cables. Not one AA USB. I get it, one less component to solder in..

Heh, I see I am not alone on that sentiment. Fumbling about trying to plug usb and hold the damn pin is a PITA

              Please help!!! any suggestions? thanks!!!

So it looks like this is an issue with these units loosing settings when turning off. I had somebody tell me that their box did the same thing. Try looking your box up to a computer monitor. If it displays correctly than the android box is trying to display out of spec settings to the TV.

I actually have mine connected to my monitor. I have tried 2 monitors and 2 TV sets and still nothing?

Its not really though is it? I mean they could have just used a standard USB to micro USB cable like 90% of the gadgets out there?

I thought that too, but that means we would have lost a USB port. So the solution was to make a standard USB port the flash. It just means that saved xx amount by using USB A, otherwise it would have been 2 usb ports and a micro usb port.

Just wanted to also add, that IMHO you've went the distance with this box, kick it back to GearBest. I've never had problems like this with the MX box. Any cost savings one experiences with these boxes is wiped out by time spent dealing with problems. And in my case having to buy a cable to get it up and running after making the horrible mistake of just turning it off and on again.

To give you an idea, look at the power adapter on an MX box, then look at the power adapter on these. Big difference in build quality.

I'm also seeing issues with Plex, saying it's unable to play the video. Never get this on an MX box. I can eventually get the file to play after rebooting and stuff, but just another bug to deal with.

**Last but not least, you've tried a different hdmi cable? I'm getting the suspicion that the auto detect function of the HDMI on these boxes is flakey.

I really do think its an HDMI problem. I only had the box less than an hour and I had to restart it a few times until the TV recognized the signal, but now nothing. I have contacted GearBest when the box 1st started acting up but they are a PITA to deal with so I think I will just start a PayPal dispute.

Are all these images based on Android 4.4?

I have been doing a bit of digging and way back on page 10 a couple of posts are linked to about Android 4.2.2 having problems with DRM?

Is there any images out there for the Beelink that are based on anything lower than 4.2.2?

                          yes they all are 4.4!

OK Im done with this box. I tried a HDMI switch to see if it would display on my TV and nothing again. I also connected it up to my Projector and still nothing. Are there any other boxes out there that are recommended in the £40 price range?
