Did you have to do anything to get DD working with Kodi? I'm still noticing the same periodic audio dropouts on the GT1 that I have with all my S905/S905X boxes.

      Hi guys,
have been struggling with the GT1 and Kodi Live TV. http://www.bee-link.com/forum.php?mo...&fromuid=14303
Live TV is using software decoding as opposite to playing video and recorded TV. Does it have to do with Interlacing? Wait for new firmware or tweak Kodi or Tvheadend?

Kodi v17 beta2 out officially today. Some changes: Hardware decode 10-bit H.264 changed from HW to SW in Amlogic chips.

Maybe that will effect on something. That is bad move thou considering efficiency.

Tested all versions, nightly, beta, Jarvis and even SPMC, all have issues with Live TV. The thing is that when i download Live TV samples Interlaced video they all play OK and all use HW decoding.
Somewhere in the firmware there is wrong connection to Live TV and codecs to be used.

            Hi all,

            I have the following S912 boxes : -
Beelink GT1 TV Box Octa Core Amlogic S912
ACEMAX M12N Smart TV Box Amlogic S912 Octa Core

I have the latest version of Kodi / SPMC running on both boxes.

I am playing a 4k test file (Sintel) from the same source and it plays absolutely fine and at full screen on the ACEMAX M12N box.

            full screen view :- http://oi63.tinypic.com/14kbeah.jpg
            video information :- http://oi64.tinypic.com/25r1snm.jpg

The same file on the played from the same source on the Beelink GT1 however is in black bordered window and not full screen

Borders around the video :- http://oi64.tinypic.com/2cqz438.jpg
            video information :- http://oi66.tinypic.com/20t455e.jpg

View mode is "Normal"in both instances.
Both boxes are set at 4k @ 60hz within the android display settings
Both boxes have the MediaCodec (Surface) and MediaCodec options selected in the Acceleration settings.

            Anyone else experienced this behaviour?

The only thing I have noticed with the Beelink box is that even if I set the GUI Resolution Limit to "Unlimited" within the spmc settings, the system information always shows 1920x1080 @ 60hz (even though the box is set to 4k @ 60hz in the android settings).

Please note that the boreded video behaviour can be seen on multiple other 4k files I have tried on the beelink box. The same files play fullscreen / without borders on the ACEMAX box.

For reference, the 4k clips I have tested can be found under in the Community Allsorts addon (ENTERTAINMENT --> 4K-MOVIES-HANGER)

I have reported the problem to Beelink however I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this behaviour with the Beelink GT1 ?

            Cheers

Hi some vendors solved the issue with s905 (with newer amlogic sdk).

But now appears the same thing on s905x and s912.

For me is very bad the drops in dts. Any one found any workaround?

For dark scene issue with GT1..temporary solution is to play 4K video. The brightness will be fixed until next reboot

Can anyone tell me how to set display screen resolution to 4K2K 60Hz? Under android display options I can only see the highest option of 4K2K 30Hz and smpte on the GT1. I have it connected to a samsung JU6000 UHD LED.

In case anyone else has same issue I have worked it out. I was connected through an HDMI matrix and the EDID was set to 4k2k 30hz. Changing that solved it . All opions now showing under display resolution.

I have 75JU7005 and 4k2k 60Hz option was directly in the Beelinks' menu. Changed to that and JU infobar is showing status 3840 x 2160 / 60p. It seems that it is working with 7-series.
Dunno if 6-series support 4K 60hz (?) Check the quality of the connection/cable? Reboot Beelink (?)

Will it be possible to run linux on this box, without waiting for some aml s912 dev board to come out?

I know it is maybe too early for this question, but i know this site is full of good developers, and i do believe someone will try to make it possible.

Have to revise my statement about HEVC content smooth play - just tried 1080x10bit HEVC - the picture is scrambled. Up to now I've tried just 8bit and found no problems.
Regarding DD with passtrouth IEC enabled - all videos seem to play just fine without any notable lag or distortion - tried on both Kodi Krypton beta 2 and SPMC
                            There is no sp00n ...

Anyone got any ideas about these Green Flashes? Should I return my GT1 as it might be faulty? Or is this likely to be software related and get fixed at some point..? :S
