Does anyone have a Tronsmart S95x? There doesnt seem to be a recovery/reset button. Do I need that to install LibreElec or can it be done without recovery boot button?

Edit. Found it. Was using too big of a toothpick to make it click.

      great guide

I followed step by step the first post, all right. Also the remote control works well with the .config file, but since I have the numeric buttons that are completely useless I can use them for functions like start stop pause? as you can do by editing the .config file?

You can use the official Keymap Editor addon in the kodi addon repo.

Also, does anyone have a remote.conf file for tronsmart s95?

I can not do it, if I change the number keys continue to do what they need, if I try to use keys that do nothing is as if I do not press anything, can someone help me?

                  LibreELEC-S905X-gxl_p212_2g.zip

This is based on the 2016-10-03-devel version.

All I have done is included the dtb.img. Without it HD audio won't work and gives the crackling sound. I have also replaced the Nexbox boot image with the default Amlogic S905X boot image.

To install just flash with TWRP.

                  This should work with:
                  • Tanix TX5 Pro
                  • MINIM8SII
                  • Nexbox A5
                  • Nexbox A95x
                  • COOLEME MB1
will this work on kodi mbox t95x with S905X SOC. 2gb rom/16gb if so does the 4k work

Guys why don't you try first the SD Card way and then decide what works and what doesn't ?
This way your box will remain unaffected and you can test what you want.
(And if you have a fast Class 10 microSD card, there is no real need to install LibreElec on the box's NAND).

Note: only 1 USB port is able to boot the box. You have to try them all. Some boxes are unable to boot from USB drive.
                      1. Look at the beginning of this post and find Downloads link. Download file with img.gz extension.
                      2. Burn the downloaded file to SD card or USB drive using Rufus. Alternatively you can use LE tool but remember that you have to download the image manually: http://wiki.libreelec.tv/index.php?title=Installation
                      3. After this you will see that drive capacity is 512MB. This is OK as there is a second (hidden) partition on the drive for LE user data!
                      4. Download a device tree, rename it to dtb.img and copy it to main folder of SD card/USB drive - replace the one that's already there.
                      5. To boot the system for the first time you have to use one of the following:
                        • toothpick method: disconnect the power supply, insert card/drive, push reset button and connect the power while holding the button. Wait until LibreELEC logo appears and release the button.
                        • menu button method (works with very few devices): disconnect the power supply, insert card/drive, push menu button on your remote control and connect the power while holding the button. Wait until LibreELEC logo appears and release the button.
                        • recovery method: boot into Android, insert card/thumb drive and choose Reboot to recovery. Your box should boot into LibreELEC.
                        • recovery method (2nd variant): if you have "Update" app pre-installed open it, insert SD card with LE/connect USB drive, and choose any ZIP file in the app for update. Your box should reboot to LE.
                        • recovery method (3rd variant): if your box is rooted, use terminal emulator app and execute reboot update command
                        • recovery method (4th variant): enable ADB (Google it) and issue adb reboot update command
