Yes, and I'm looking at adding several options to the Global Actions Menu that would be activated on long-press. Unfortunately, this requires extricating a bit of OEM-specific Netxeon code and rebuilding the framework from source. We have access to the Amlogic SDK, but not code that's been customized by OEMs, so this could be tricky.

      That's great
Can you tell me where I can make changes to my remote control settings?

That's in the /etc/remote.conf file. (Except for the power on detection, which is hard coded into the bootloader.)

Hello again, Magendanz. It's been a while since I last posted here but I have some updates to report.

You mentioned that it's possible to change the boot animation by copying a bootanimation.zip file to the root/system/media folder but this didn't work for me at first. The reason why is because the file also needs the correct (644) permissions in order to take effect.

I tried out the Mouse Toggle for Android TV app on the Beelink GT1 since the app supports the Xiaomi Mi Box which uses an Amlogic SoC. Unfortunately, the volume down then up sequence only adjusts the volume on this device rather than triggering the mouse mode.

Another Android TV app that I use is TV Boot which is available at https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...elgauci.tvboot. I would suggest this free app for inclusion in future updates of your ROM but its shutdown option is disabled and the reboot to bootloader option only performs a regular reboot on the Beelink GT1. The bootloader option works fine on my Google Nexus Player, though. Does the Beelink GT1 have an accessible bootloader menu?

The HDMI CEC support in your custom ROM is something that I think is convenient. When I use a T3 air mouse remote, however, its power button puts the Beelink GT1 in to an instant sleep mode which doesn't cause the TV to turn off. Do you have an idea as to why this happens? There's a discussion thread about the T3 air mouse remote at http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=278842.

I've gone ahead and ordered a Beelink GT1 Ultimate but it probably won't arrive for at least a couple of weeks. Do you plan to release any custom ROMs for that model or are your current ones okay to flash on the device? I remember you said that your initial analysis of the Beelink GT1 Ultimate firmware showed no major differences compared to that of the normal Beelink GT1. However, I noticed that superceleron has released custom ROMs for the newer model so I wonder if you plan to do the same any time soon.

I don't plan to purchase a GT1 Ultimate, and so no custom ROMs are forthcoming. My understanding is that some changes were required for the DDR4 DRAM, though.

That's disappointing to find out, Magendanz, but I understand that you're not obligated to do so. If Beelink or GearBest or a fan of yours from this forum is able to donate a box to you, would that change your mind? Alternatively, if people here are willing to make donations in order for you to purchase a GT1 Ultimate, is that okay?

Well, if someone wants to send me a unit, I'd be happy to. It's just very difficult to make custom ROMs without the actual hardware, and my wife will only tolerate me buying so many of these things. :-)

Thanks for being open to the idea. I'll see what I can arrange. I also have another question for you. If someone flashes your full burn package .img file and you've released multiple updates since then, is it necessary to flash all of the zip file updates (one after another) in TWRP or is it okay to flash just the latest update?

I create block-based OTA updates, not incremental ones. These replace the entire system partition, and so you can just flash the latest.

Excellent! Thanks for the confirmation. I've contacted GearBest about the idea of sending you a Beelink GT1 Ultimate (as they did for superceleron) so I hope that happens in the near future. Keep up the great work.

Nothing is confirmed yet but I've messaged gearbest about this and they responded back to tell me that it's under consideration. Let's see if they supply Guest with a Beelink GT1 Ultimate. He certainly deserves it and I know that fans of his work would appreciate seeing his fantastic Android TV ROM on that device.
