I just retested the Android TV Remote app with a clean install of the latest TVStock build, and it worked fine. Did you not even get a pairing prompt? And did you confirm that you're running the latest version of the app on your phone or tablet?

Our problem was that Open GApps would remove the AOSP keyboard when installing the Google Keyboard or Leanback Keyboard. If removed, the Droidlogic control would fail to bring up any keyboard when you navigated into an edit box. To be honest, I haven't tested it lately, but it sounds like we could add the Leadback keyboard safely. I'd just need to ensure we didn't get into that scenario before where no text input was possible with the IR remote.

Also, I remember that the Leadback keyboard wouldn't work right with Terminal Emulator for some reason.

Do you know if this rom can fit on TX8 android box (s912 / 9377Wifi chipset) ?

I haven't tested the ROM on that box, but the TX8 is also based on the q201 reference board and uses the same wireless chipset, so it should work. If your remote doesn't work, you may need to swap out the original OEM remote.conf, though. That will work for everything except cold power-up, since that IR code is hardcoded into the bootloader.

I can confirm it is a problem with the latest official LinageOS, me and my wife have the same phone and I just installed the remote app on her stock OnePlus OS and it worked.

I will try this rom if I do not find anything for this device. Thank you for your answer.

I tried sideloading the APK but on launch I got a message stating something like there was no SU binary and it can't be installed. I then tried the latest release of the TWRP flashable version but I got errors during flash about patching the bootloader if I'm remembering correctly. Then I went back to the v2.46 flashable version which is before all this systemless root stuff became a thing, which I believe was related to the issues I had flashing the current release. That worked. Then I updated to the latest release with the sideloaded APK.You can get the v2.46 flashable zip from the link.
the same thing happened to me when installing the latest zip also lost the root that was already installed. By following your instructions i was able to update to the latest. Thank you joelkolb. I didn't get a chance to try until today so sorry it took so long to report my progress.

After setting up and trying out your brilliant Android TV ROM on a relative's Beelink GT1 for a few days, I encountered something unusual when I took the device back to his house. Shortly after it connected to his WiFi network, I noticed that the connection would drop and reconnect frequently (as in every minute). This was a surprise to me because I experienced no such issues at my house. I had him power cycle his modem / router (Bell Home Hub 2000 AKA Sagemcom F@st 5250) and I restarted the Beelink GT1 multiple times but that didn't solve the problem. I then accessed his modem / router's control panel and noticed that it used a shared SSID for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless bands. After I disabled that option and had the device connect to one of two separate SSIDs, the connection became stable. I think this is worth mentioning here because back when he had the Beelink (GT1_106M0) firmware installed, he did not experience that issue even with the shared SSID for both wireless bands..

Just ran into this today after flashing on my T95U pro. Couldn't figure out why I kept getting connection drops. Separating the 2.4 and 5ghz bands into 2 different SSID solved the issue Thanks!

Also thank you Magendanz for a great rom everything is running great!

Simply unzip these two .ko files (hid-dr.ko and hid-sony.ko) from the zip attatched to the bottom of this post to your box and open terminal, cd to the folder you copied them to and type
                            Code:
                            insmod hid-sony.ko
                            for the ps controller and
                            Code:
                            insmod hid-dr.ko
for the dragonrise controller. Took me a while to find these ones that worked with the previous rom I was using so was glad to find they still worked with this one.

If you follow these instructions a couple of pages back you can use the PS3 controller with a cable too
