It won't work it's a different built, you can use a marshmallow kernel on nougat but it wont boot if you do the other way ronund, there is a s912 q201 7.1.1 rom with the same kernel, but updated for nougat, have a look in chanagadget review website, can't help any further coz I nolonger have that prototype board, but that was the last version of Android that I know of running with a 2ghz kernel, but I thought you wanted to stay on marshmalow anyways, that IMG on China gadgests review website it's not rooted, if you use it and decide to root, make sure to remove all root related binaries from it coz if you flash SuperSU to get root it will brick due to mixed root binaries...

-s912 CPU -ddr3 ram
-emmc chip size don't matter but brand does (that one is Samsung's) different brands may be a bit laggy
Tese are kernel related
This next ones are ROM (system/etc/) fixable wifi may be in kernel too
-wifi chipset(Bluetooth it's in the same chip)
-Remote configuration may be different too
If you are in 6.0.1 there is a good chance that it work...
hoo, It is you, uoppsss....Last edited by hcardoso483; 23 June 2018, 15:05.

To cut a long story short the third box was a Blue LPDDR3 model CZ-S32-V5. I had flashed it with the wrong rom effectively bricking the box. After some bios pin shorting the box was finally responding in USB burning tool. I then opted for the correct rom which failed. I also tried SC's test rom for LP V5 models and it still failed.
The box gets to 8% after formatting and partitioning in USB burning tool then stops displaying the following message.
HUB3-1 2018-06-21 18:32:38 169 [0X30403003] UBOOT/Partition_aml_dtb/Download buffer/Data transfer error
Does anyone know what this means ? Have I in fact bricked the box beyond recovery?
Many thanks...

No it is not dead it has the wrong bootloader in it so it's trying to find the right firmware on the sdcard tray, the only way to recover from that is with the sdburning card method, find the correct firmware for your box, use the sdcard burn method, make the card and insert it to the tray, give power to the box, if you do everything right you don't even.need to press reset the box will start flashing becouse it is already looking for firmware in that tray, it's a security thing on this Chinese devices that I only learned after trowing 2 of them to the thrash bin (stupid me hehehe) mNiwbi know, this duvices are hard to kill, unless is something with the electronics there always a way to bring them to life, on the s912 chipset you can short pins too for last resorce (I don't recommend shorting pins unless you try everything else and you know for sure that you are flashing the correct firmware) Good luck...

Thanks for the advice. SD card method seems non responsive box just stays on the Power blue led and doesn't even flash if reset is pushed. The red audio out led however is on.
I've tried Superceleron's blue version as the board is definitely a 3+32/ 9377 CZ-S32-V5. It also shows S32-V5 LPDDR3. Manufacture date 29-08-2017. I believe the original firmware was dated 10-10-17 which I have also downloaded the LP version from links on Freaktab however this also failed again at 8%.
Again the error message in USB burning tool was: HUB3-1 2018-06-21 18:32:38 169 [0X30403003] UBOOT/Partition_aml_dtb/Download buffer/Data transfer error
USB burning tool appears to partition and format then fails on the upload of the file to device memory. This I think is causing the download buffer data transfer error.

Insert a fat 32 formated sdcard and use the normal erase option
For the USB burning tool the one I use is this
Some times you get error flashing becouse you need a Mac key use this one
I hope this helps you but don't give up your box is not dead it has the wrong firmware in it
If you need additional power to the box the way to do is
1-press and hold reset button
2- plug USB cord still holding the reset button
3- plug the power cord hold still the reset button untill you see that the device restarted ( during the detection on the ram the device will restart a write bootloader then will soft reboot again and write firmware if you pay attention you can see it happening
