Heat stayed around 80°C ( with fan 67°C) and cpu 35- 40%. I had nothing running...... I gave up and rebooted the box.

No, its not working too. i try sdcard method and usb cable method even i bought new 2.0 usb cable for this i am using usb 2.0 but nothing useful.

use sd card and burn_card_make (check all checkbox) with IMG file SCV4-A7.1.2-x64-Alfawise.H96.ProPlus.img
after install ota update via Local update function (zip file, dont need unzip)

If you root you should be able to > reboot to recovery with Reboot app. ( New Alfawise did not reboot, older one can ) Then install your OTA SCV7A from SC Card. (Maybe extra USB powered cable will assist a successful reboot-Alfawise)

Don't want to root or can't reboot- Unplug power from box and insert paperclip in reset hole. Plug power in and continue to hold paperclip for 10(?) seconds and release. Should boot into recovery. Install > SCV7A zip and you should be good to go.

Give superceleron a bid wad of money/paypal. He might make time in his new busy schedule?

Thanks for the info. I have several vidcard/cpu heatsinks..somewhere. Hidden in some drawer or box along with a tube of thermal paste(old).

China Box running smooth with SCV7A. I've tried CyberGhost and exchanged my Purevpn apk for older version. Some back-ground services keep running till force closed.. Dropping CPU 30 % down to 2-3 %

Play services and Install helper services hang on too long?

I'm still testing for best results.

Few things if someone can help to fix please....

1. TV don't switch to HDR mode while playing Youtube HDR video.
2. Setup & App buttons on original remote don't work.
3. After shutting down (either from bottom menu or power off from Reboot app) I can't turn on the box from remote. Need to reconnect the power supply to turn on.

i do know how to perform PAPERCLIP /ToOTHPICK method. I do not lack the knowledge. The BOX will not Boot into RECOVERY [HANGS]. "REboot" app doesn't work for me, either [Not ROOTED]. OTA apps doesn't work [HANGS after Reboot]

I am increasingly frustrated that everyone who has replied to my messages seems to ignore reading the problem and keep REPEATING the same advice.

How many times does a guy have to hear "PERFORM AN OTA UPDATE" when I write "I Can't get my BOX to do an OTA update"... before anyone will understand that NOT being to get the Box to do it IS the problem?

I do not lack the knowledge to upgrade my ROM's since I have done so almost a dozen times in the past year trying out different developers ROM's.

Most importantly I want to set the green color app button or the mouse button to bring up the recent apps list. Also I'd like to configure the numbers to certain shortcuts. Please help.

If you want to move files around manually, you will have to root your China Box.
I suggest Magisk v.14.2, you can then add a plugin to allow SD card R/W permissions.

Edit: Just a concern. The Box I bricked- I'm sure the SD card slot kept corrupting my card. If your card was not formatted FAT32, then maybe an issue to test out.

Thanks. Rooted the device. Don't know which plugin is that for sd card permissions, will search to find out. Do I require the same permissions for usb drive as well?

M8 grab the terminal emulator app, install it, open it and then write "reboot recovery" without quotes and enter... if it boots to recovery then its all ok, if not i think you flash gone wrong of you have a diferent box i mean something different.
And i cant make now the IMG, i am slam with work...
