So I wonder if is it possible to install SCV4 in a SD CARD (using the Amlogic Burn_Card_Maker v2.0.2) and then OTA update to SCV7?
In that way we can proper test new versions without flashing the BOX everytime.
Currently the only male to male usb cable that I have is from an old laptop cooling pad, which I believe only transfers energy and not data.

do you mean an offizial OTA?
this function does not work. in the original rom it does not work, too.
or do you mean the SCV6 OTA?
first flash SCV4, via sc card burner tool and a micro sd card. after starting once, unplug powercord.
(FIRST STEP IS NECCESSARY TO INSTALL TEAM WIN RECOVERY!)
just copy the SCV6 ZIP file on a clean micro sd card, or an usb stick.
with a toothpicker or something llke this, press the button in the hole and connect the power cord.
after 10-20 sec the team win recovery appears, remove the toothpick.
slide to start team win recovery.
enter the first option, INSTALL ROM.
select reading device like sd-card, usb-stick etc.
select the scv6 zip file from the media stick/card.
select option,"reboot after flashing" and then swipe to start.
be patient after flashing. first start may 5 minutes

@ Vaizen, @ inoxllor,
Look through the previous pages in this forum or the s912 forums and send a private message to anyone who posted success with the SD card method. Maybe they'd upload a copy for you to place on a boot ready card?
That being said, you'll see a few bricks by the SD card method. Can you afford to make a cable or buy a cable compared to bricking your shiny new China Box?
Just a concern from someone who hard-bricked one of these by SD card method.
G-Luck,
Reap

@ Ace310,
You are fine to update SCV7A, Use the Update app, I suggest putting SCV7A on a SD card as Local source of update. Do not select >Wipe Data, nor Wipe Media. Your info should be safe. You may have to sign into Google Play again...
I just did several(Christmas gifts) and all retained their respective data.

I kind of skipped the instructions on the first page and updated the stock rom with SCV7A. And I did it through micro sd card. I chose the wetek launcher because it looks easy to navigate and create favorites. The power app where all the options to reboot did not work.
Not sure why so I did a couple of things, but I don't know which of the two helped. I downloaded magisk 14 (I had to, if I wanted to install an ad blocker), reboot to twrp, installed it, and reboot to system. Once the magisk is up and running, I installed Adaway and tested the power app. Now it is working.
One thing I keep noticing is the thermal heat. I reaches nearly 70 degrees celcius just by running some tests (4K UHD movies on Kodi, and 1080p shows/movies on Terrarium) for four straight hours. I might have to open the box and see what's going on inside. Was already planning on putting a heatsink+cooling fan but I need to know what is the right size for it.
I have some questions though;
1. Is it safe to update the TWRP through playstore?
2. What will happen if I update the default youtube and netflix apps? and other default apps?
3. Will wiping the dalvik, system, data, cache, internal, before re-installing SCV7A brick the box?
Thank you for such a great rom superceleron!
