Wierd ok thought it was pulled was the blocking of un rooted. Seems to be but its plsying at 1080 i check tonight?

You wiil kill it, to much fuzz about it, imagine a company that pays netflix $$ to have certification and access to the FHD/UHD and out of the blue a non paying one gets that... what you think it will happen?

Not playing Netflix @ 1080 or even 720 for me on the ATV ROM. Even with the modded .apk.

Now that was weird, definitely wasn't anything above 480P when I tested a TV prog but after trying the test Example, that showed 720p, the TV program played OK.

OK played the test again again and the bitrate jumped to 5800 with a res increase to 1080P. This is getting awesome

Well some m8 have luck others dont, but dont worry in no time all are back to max 720p again!
Well i think i will skip my "normal" roms for this one and the M8S Pro(s912), im getting a bit tired of this and i think i will stop making roms for a few months!
im going to make to the ones that i still have here(not counting this 2) and stop!

We'll follow your great work to the very end! For one thing, no-one apart from you has managed to get the earlier ATV YouTube (pre-version 2.0) to output at 2k/4k. Since I for one am having problems with version 2.0 on this brilliant rom, I'd love to revert to the earlier build of YouTube - but we need a modded build.prop (MiBox3 spoof) from you which doesn't mess up anything else!

I hate to admit it, but I hadn't realized that there was no Bluetooth support on this device until I started running into problems building the custom Android TV ROM. For me, that's a real deal breaker because I use a Bluetooth universal remote and often use Bluetooth headsets when I work out and at night so as not to disturb my wife. This box really would have been perfect, if it weren't for that major shortfall.

With no Widevine L1 support on the M8S Pro, we can't even recommend that customers upgrade to the S912.

With use of a 1~2$ BT dongle, a creative Dev could not this BT problem be implemented, bit of a much around but possible or not ?

Yeah, we've even got the generic USB Bluetooth kernel module (btusb.ko).

Another great idea from the "capped, masked man". I do have a Bluetooth dongle that is being unused, and a Bluetooth Xiaomi remote that would work great with this box....... Of course, I don't have this box YET............

On wetek website for the play 2, it does not say it is certified or approved by netflix. It says widevine level 1, hdcp 2.2 and playready. And android TV ROM makes netflix work better on the wetek play 2.

Surely if they could say certified by netflix, it would be plastered all over their website?

Instead they say widevine level one, and have been tweaking their ROM until it gave 4k on marshmallow.

Now, I wonder, if you could keep widevine level 1, and had a marshmallow ROM, instead of nougat, on this box, would you get 4k? I believe the mm amlogic SDK is more stable or maybe has something that ticks a box that amlogic nougat does not?


Xaiomi mi box is the same, does not say certified, and have stuck with mm.

If like me you are struggling to get anything, leave alone 2k/4k, from YouTube version2, you can drop back to the previous build 1.3.11 and use my fix to Nougat's build.prop. It gives you this, leaving Netflix intact.
