    Do not try this firmware on your MECOOL M8S PRO L. Firstly firmware compatible with the M8S PRO is not compatible with the M8S Pro L. Second, no other firmware will support DRM L1 on your device. Third, there are already 2 topics of ATV firmwares for your device here in the forum. But you can search for the topic of your device also in the forum 4PDA.

      thanks for the heads up.i was aware that this firmware wont work on my m8s pro l.i have the LB VARIANT which is the newest.there is no custom firmware for this box at the moment due to the changes made to the board by adding a different wifi module to previous variants.

          Is this firmware better than Magendanz's modded versions of Videostrong/Shiningwood?

            It would be impossible to beat it... solid and does what you want in a TV box with ATV.

            working on abusing my Mini M8S Pro-C... tried flashing it, did not load properly, but my boot loader is locked and may have to do repetitive back to back flashes, because of the inherent issues with firmwares not functioning properly with a good flash. Will try reloading that firmware again, once I feel up to it. I expect a lot of error flashes, and a bit of fighting with flash tool versions.

            oddly enough I installed an ATV firmware that seemed easy to install, but am having flash issues again. Eventually I hope to have the AM3 flash working on my box some time, to see how good it really is.

              Is it also suitable for M8S Pro 3/16?

                Not sure... I had read a lot of various details on firmwares from the site about installing them on the M8S Pro and some are 2/16 only. Not sure what can happen with 3GB versions. I have ran a custom firmware made to shorten the ram from 2GB to 1GB to move into more RAM for apps. Worked well but now am on stock with 2GB, because of an issue with hardware needing modified. I plan on moving away to a custom ATV firmware soon, now that my mods are in place.

                From what I understand, 3GB loosing 1GB won't be an issue, as 3GB is way too much reserved to system. Heck, my old kitkat tablet is 2/16 and still kicks butt, and I multitask more than I would on TV. Plus my apps are more memory intensive.

                    1. Download and brush with the USB Burning tool the Official IMG.file for Ugoos-AM3 (V 2.06);

                    https://mega.nz/#!eolxlKAD!1G8o_vAy2...A1XpfwPnPoVWpg

                    2. Replace the file Root\system\etc\remote.conf (I prefer Root explorer);
                    3. Run TWRP and install the patch for the Ethernet adapter (install from zip).

                    Flash at your own risk! Back up your data first!
                    What is the patch for ethernet for.just in case I'm missing something.

                            Just be careful about how you flash... you can kill widevine if not careful. It has is own partition and coded with the devices serial number. So one widevine will not work with another box.

                            FYI, I had a recent firmware update for my Mini M8S Pro-C, it had upgraded all the drivers, and enabled one of my USB ports to be USB3. Maybe that will be the case for the new L1 edition of the M8S Pro.

                            IMO, if you have an over 65" 4K TV widevine will help with best picture. Though if I spent money on a 4K TV, I would have bought a Shield TV box to go with it.

                                Keep "Normal erase" in USB Burning tool's options and you will have no problems brushing your box.
