Hi all,
I had a problem with the CEC HDMI functionnality.
Every time I switch on my TV, normaly it start on the latest source used ( for example my set-top box). But since I had my mecool connected on it , my tv always switch to the mecool. Seems the mecool send a CEC signal to switch on it . How can I disable this?

Is your Mecool on or off? I've noticed that when my M8S is off but plugged in (i.e. the red light is on) CEC doesn't work for my other equipment.

Hi, im new with ATV but finally get working box with kodi, netflix and polish hbo go - but the quality of hbo go i very very poor - its not network issue - what can be a problem?

HBO GO Polska has not a good Quality of movies - 720p is the limit - i was talking with consumer service looking for 5.1 version on HBO GO Polska - they told me that almost all of the movies are in medium quality...

Hi all,
I have a M8S Pro+ with the "bad flash" version.
I can however boot armbian from an MicroSD.
Is there a way to have this firmware on an SD-card and boot from it without touching the internal emmc firmware?
I know that the burn card maker will attempt to overwrite the internal storage, that may result in bricking my device.
The issue was discussed in the past but there was no solution at that time...

I have the same issue - I had to unplug the hdmi from my TV as it was overriding the CEC even when the M8S Pro+ was off.

It must be an electrical issue. CEC works on all devices when the M8S is "on" or power unplugged. The problem only occurs when "off" but plugged in.

Hi i have both dont see much difference if any in performance and i use the custon andriod tv rom for m8 and the m8 has more flash memory and is cheaper and more usb ports I'd choose the m8 over xiaomi the wifi is only 2.4ghz on mecool, it plays the 4k hdr movies 50gb+ fine with ethernet cable with Xiaomi you can buy usb network but will use the only 1 usb port

I also have the NVidia shield the NVidia is faster but in general use i cant see much difference but the NVidia price is on another level

Also, add that the Mecool does not support Google Cast, if that is a requirement. In other words, it you use Google Home and want to tell it to play a movie on your TV, it can't work with this Mecool box.

I have 2 Nexus players and 1 Xiaomi Mibox, but I prefer to use my Mecool M8S Pro L. I also have the Mecool M8S Pro and the Pro Plus.

I found a solution.
1- I gave the box a gift for a friend.
2- I ordered the new one.

It's hard to bring back your DRM without getting a DRM partition backup.

Did anyone tried to dump eMMC with method provided in this page? I did and it looks kinda empty, there is some data but most of space are 0x00's. Did anyone fixed L1 by restoring it as
described here ?

thanks. Casting is something I use quite a lot, so I may need to think about it

Hi, I have finally flashed my box with the new rom. Thanks Magendanz.
Everything went good. My box is 1/8mb version with Samsung 710 KLM8G1WEPD-B031 and the build was: NMF26Q 20170715.093046.V0321.
I had a small problem with spontaneous shutting down of my box after flashing but i did a factory reset and now it seems to be OK.
The one issue I have is the first playing a movie from netflix is a bit laggy for about 30 sec and after that everything is normal. Playing another movie is normal from the begining. It's weird but I can live with that but maybe anyone knows how to solve this problem?

I'd expect performance to be a bit laggy with only 1GB of DRAM. It probably paged out something it needed for video playback.

I updated my box to Android Tv, but since i did it, molotov had sound but no video (black screen) and for netflix i just have black screen, so i can't log in.
Do you have some ideas to resolve this?

Did you do a data wipe when you switched to Android TV and download the Netflix version for the ATV platform from the new Google Play Store?

Yes i did data wipe when istalling update.
I tried Netflix from Play store and anoro+ther from netflix web page, both gives me black screen.
Perhaps i need to make fresh install?

EDIT : Clean install of stock rom with TWRP, then apply update android tv, and that's all good this time.

Trying to run Plex for android from the mecool+(TVStock Nexus ROM) al files on the qnap nas plex server installed,bu ervery time i want to play a movie the screen goes black.
