LB has different wi-fi/Bluetooth module to previous versions.you loaded a custom rom that is not compatible.you need to go back to stock.

At this point in time there is no compatible custom rom for this version.you will just have to go back to original stock rom.

Read through this thread and you will find it.someone was kind enough to provide a copy of their back up rom for LB boxes.

At this stage I'm fairly certain it's a firmware/android/avr compatibility issue. Not sure if you saw my previous post above but it looks to be a compatibility problem with the new android audiotrack api introduced for surround sound in Marshmellow and Onkyo. Ever so slowly inching towards solutions...

Yeah I see the HD audio options with expert settings SPMC. Unfortunately passthrough of HD audio still doesn't work. I have to disable 'amcodec' acceleration just to prevent it from crashing when playing any video.

Strange one this.spmc gives hd options but doesn't work.kodi doesn't give you options .need more thinking on this I do.

First of all, i must thank the author for the ROM, Guest . Much better than the stock one.

I have some questions:
- when to expect an update? i have issues when waking up from sleep... ethernet connection always fail and have to disconnect the cable and put it back in... also
- any solution for the weak wifi signal? i use 5ghz wifi and it can be slower than 2.4ghz ... any DIY or cheap antennas that you could reccomend?

Overheating is an issue with these boxes.if you can place on top of a cooling fan it will run a lot cooler.mine runs about 40 degrees centigrade watching a movie which is about half the temp that it would reach.

So I borrowed a new mi box 3 just to triple verify there is zero fault with my audio hardware. With that, I am able to see HD Audio options in Kodi and successfully passthrough DTS-HD and TrueHD.
I think my only option left with this Mecool M8S PRo L is to attempt flashing the Magendanz ROM on the random chance it fairs better than stock...

Clearly isolated to some issue with the mecool box itself.let me know the outcome.not all boxes are equal it would seem.
