Enter recovery when you can't boot into android
Sorry if I missed it, but is there a way to enter recovery even if you can't boot., by holding in the reset button or something?
I made some system changes and now I'm in a boot loop so I can't "reboot" into recovery. I need to boot directly into it.

The exact way to boot to recovery is device specific. What device do you have, hopefully if you let us know someone will have an answer for you.900Supersport

Thanks so much! I messed around with recovery.fstab and got nearly everything working. Then I ended up restoring the stock firmware to get a look at the original recovery.fstab--and it turns out the stock firmware from Ugoos is not the stock firmware that shipped with my device... I now have horrible wifi problems--but your CWM image now works tooLast edited by sapphous; 31 December 2013, 02:27.

Happy New Year to all of you folks!
Leolas, I know that you just returned but I have one more request.
Just received atv580 box, and I like to try to install cwm on it. I have no links for the installed rom (Android 4.2.2 kernel 3.0.36+) is there any existing version I can try? Would need to use SD card method since there is no otg port and it did not come rooted unlike the atv520.
Thanks

However, without the original ROM to hand, you risk your device not booting until a ROM becomes available.
In this case, I would highly recommend investigating backing up your current ROM prior to modifying your device.

This is why I wanted to install cwm
Tried the generic update.zip but got message that it is invalid package
ThanksLast edited by lifeisfun; 02 January 2014, 15:36.

Lets say one day I need to return my device for manufacture warranty.
If CWM is flashed on my device, if I use RockChip Batch Tool to flash original manufacture file "update.img" will that overwrite CWM and restore back to factory state?
Device I'm referring to is TimingPower RK3188 if it makes a difference I also have a Minix Neo X7 don't remember what Minix provides as file to do write firmware.
