Mi Box supports 4k Netflix. Connect it directly to your TV.

Just connected it directly to my 4k TV and bingo, it did indeed play in 4k. Now, that brings up another problem on my end, why did my Denon AVR NOT passthrough the 4k signal, like it was supposed to.

Does the Denon support HDCP 2.2 or only HDCP 1.x?

Mo123, that is part of the issue, from what I have read, all it says is 4k passthrough. Does NOT say what DRM HDCP version it supports. I really don't want to have to purchase a new one, but one of my HDMI inputs died a few months ago. This AVR has 5 rear HDMI ports on the back, but only 2 of them are 4K inputs.

Dang, I really did not want to purchase a new AVR, not for another 10 years at least. Of course by then I will be dead and gone..... lol

So, I will continue to use my existing Denon AVR......

You need to treat you AV Amps like media players just keep on buying,

Could really use a faster RAM or CPU.
With Android 8, I think it needs more juice.

Maybe using a fan like some people are doing with Mecool M8S Pro L,
by the pictures this box seems pretty closed up and looks like it lacks airflow
with a fan the M8S Pro L went down from 90ºC to 45ºC

Finally received my Mecool KM8 Android TV box, and did a review. It does support HDCP 2.2 while connected directly to my 4k TV, but not supported when connected through my Denon AVR. Also, it does NOT support HD audio, it will play Dolby Digital and DTS, but not HD audio.

When connected directly to my 4k TV, it will play the modified Netflix app in 1080p.

I just saw your review and I've 2 question for you. Autoframe rate is supported for kodi and other app? It's possible to install libreelec/coreelec on a sd card or bootloader is locked?
Did you try to switch the hdmi cable? If your receiver support HDCP 2.2 there is no reason why it doesn't work...

any chances you can test prime video app v4.7.9 or v4.7.17?
also saw on aida64 that the box seems to be working in 32bits, I thought that android oreo would bring 64bits
on another note, will you be modding this box to bring the temps down with a fan? I saw the temps where really high on 4k 60fps where the highest, maybe with a fan and heatsink it wont drop so many frames

I don't know what autoframe rate is or how to test it. Can you tell me how to test for it, or what to look for?? I will try a different cable tomorrow and report back. I will be testing to see if LibreELEC will work on this box, tomorrow. I did install a terminal emulator and booted into the Android recovery menu, so that is a plus.

Yes, I was also surprised that it was using 32 instead of 64 bit system. Perhaps, if I get time later in the week, I will sign up for a temporary Prime membership. Gotta sort out some other issues on this box first.

I probably won't be doing any modding, since it is running the exact temperatures as my Xiaomi Mibox.........
