Odd that they took it down.
Worst case scenario, the N5Max Android 9 port is basically the same.

https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?show...#entry87173464I wonder if maybe they are working on a new update for it?

So this (which is the firmware labeled: H96 max x2 (Amlogic S905x2) Firmware Android 9.0 LPDDR3 on the manufacturer website) is the same as this (which is the old mega link they shared for the DDR4 version).
Also, using google translate, it sounds like segej at 4pda is saying that the firmware labeled 'H96 max x2 (Amlogic S905x2) Firmware Android 9.0 8DDR3' (this one) actually works for the DDR4 version and is more recent than the previous one Android 9 firmware, dated July 3rd. Has anyone tried this firmware?

Recently i told my friend to buy 2 of these tv boxes from banggod's offers...
One 4/64 & one 4/32.....
Now that i have them in my hands i really disappointed...!!!
Both of them are different (at least as it shows from the firmware version!)
In both of them i can't read the build.pro , they haven't OTA update procedure and they don't let me install any other launcher (can't read the package or something like that) !!!!!!!
At this moment of the time i don't want to ''open them'' (because are not mine) and see what's inside!!!
I'm afraid of the idea that these ''rubbishes'' have other chip or eMMC and that's why i don't want to reflash them and test with other firmwares!!!!
So before all that i'm asking your help....
If anyone else has one of these tv boxes then maybe has more things to say.....!
Thank you

I know that is very common this kind of mess in most of these tv boxes but as i said they are not mine and my friend wants specific things that i can't do them with this launcher !!!!!!!!
Sorry guys but i don't want to use them with CoreElec and unfortunatly neither cpu-z or Device Info HW can tell me the ...''truth'' ....
So i believe there are 2 options for me with these tv boxes....
Either someone knows something more because he has the same or opening the tv box and identifying the hardware!!!
And as i said already they are new and they are not mine!!!

nothing wrong with your unit.. your unit could be Ver 3 board, only specific Stock Rom you can burn to those unit.
the best one for UBT flashing is ver 1 ( you can burn with ver3 Rom) if you have ver 3 you can only flash with Ver 3 Rom unless someone can figure it out to edit the Rom base on ver 3 kernel
almost all public site posted stock ROM for Ver 1.

Thank you for your answer...
I have had one version 1 and the tv box was very good...
I'm confused although because if they are both version 3 with dd3 why i see different infos from one to another?
Sorry if i'm missing something here but as far as i know there are 2 versions one with lpddr4 and the other with lpddr3 , both of them with the same wifi chip!
So is there and a 3d version or what?

I am doing revision by myself base on ATV from Mod developer here for H96Max Ver3 Box so far so good but the only problem wifi not working I am not using it anyway (plug with RJ45 all time)
So it's Android Tv time. It's a frankenfirmware, so there is not a clear base, i adapted it to X96 Max and GT1 Mini devices but it shoud run on many other device based on U211 motherboard so S905X2. Probably if it's not clearly meant for your device you'll have to change the remote config file in vendor/etc., and you'll get

Now i lost you ...again!
Are these 2 versions i know the only ones?
Is there and a third?
If yes with what hardware is the third?
And can you please point me version 3 firmwares?
And yes if mine is dd3 , it feels faster and maybe more stable than my first same tv box but it has .... annoying restrictions and that's not good !
Thank you!

The problem I don't know to identify my RAM is DDR3 or DDR4 without looking directly to the chip.. my Chip is blurry on the surface ( and I don't care if this is DDR3/4)
you can load N5 Max Rom already posted by one poster few pages back and I tried it and works for V3 and it was rooted, so you can set custom launcher as you wish.
Few min ago I just figured it out, how to Mod the ROM for this board V3 and the ATV Rom working now for this V3 board.( I am not developer so kind of tedious work to make ATV working)
forget The N5 fw and this firmware from https://www.h96tvbox.com/content/6-Firmware-upgrade aslo rooted
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...BQ4iLC_wLEbLVV , I think you can Mod it ... right?
