Nothing is changed besides the settings I posted.
I have the 3G version also and the kernel runs fine.

Its hard to enter flashmode mannually.... do you also have bootloop with your 3g version before using this OC kernel....
No, I don't have bootloops with my M6 max.
I am coming from stock directly to 1.8a (used 4GB for user space as parameter file).
Flashed like it is written in the manual and it runs fine.
The kernel I posted here is for the version 1.8a.

Now, during all testings I do, I use the rom from Arctablet as it is more stock with less changes. This is better for my tests to check the results: http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/pipo-max-m6/pipo-m6-3g-model-rooted-android-4-2-2-custom-firmware-release-20130814/#p28537

I made a version with adjusted scaling (CPU Spy shows smoother usage of each step):

Interesting...your 1 day older "NEW" version runs fine on my M6 3G, but your newer v4 does not boot despite numerous tries and cache flushes.

Also, all the other souped-up kernels I tried from giouncino & rceccleston also do not work. Soooo, while my machine definitely works well with your 1704/660/720 "NEW" kernel (Antutu = 20,365 with wifi off and NORMAL display), I'd still like to try an 800 ram version of your "NEW" kernel if you have time to make it.

Odd that just changing those two timing values would make the v4 version not work on my machine....

          THX!

Very curios... It must have be to do with the voltages at the cpu-steppings. "new" (aka V3) and the V4 are only different in one CPU stepping.
If you want I can make a new version with 800 MHz Ram version based on V3. I will post it later.

Pay attention that my kernels are for M6pro only, I think that's the reason why for you don't work!

Here is the new v3.1 for the M6 max. Only different is the RAM frequency with 800 MHz.

I had have to named the v3.1 kernel "kernel-cpu1704_gpu600_ddr800_v3.1" to be correctly but in terms of easier usage I leaved it to match the v3. The 2 attachements are the same. One is for use to flash via ROM_Flash_Tool_137 and the other is directly flashable via CWM recovery.

                cwm-cpu1704_gpu660_ddr800_v3.1.zip
                kernel-cpu1704_gpu660_ddr800_v3.1.img.zip

Here are my findings to the applied settings after a reboot:

Thanks man your kernel really rocks.. I'm on riley 1.5 rom and u'r kernel version 4 works for me... Great work... It makes my tablet alive again... got 20499 on antutu with normal mode Wifi on...battery seems to last exactly as long as before....Though i would really love to see 800 DDR on V4... I dont really care much about the score on antutu benchmark, it just that my device is so much.... snappier with your kernel and everything work fine

Randy - If its OK with you, it would be really cool to include his kernel V4 as an optional kernel in your 1.5 Rom

                      speaker problem

After playing some music with max volume I messed up my left speaker... now the left speaker sound was cranky and distorted.... anyone know where I can buy/get a replacement or equivalent speaker

Here is Kernel V4.1 for Pipo M6 max.
The only difference to V4 is the RAM @800 MHz.
Same as with V3.1 is one of the attechements for use to flash via ROM_Flash_Tool_137 and the other is directly flashable via CWM recovery.

Elephraim, better than a speaker replacement, you may want to try something like this:

Get full-length product reviews, the latest news, tech coverage, daily deals, and category deep dives from CNET experts worldwide.

It sounds great for the price, and you can say goodby to (I get one even without breaking my speakers... seems that Pipo guys doesn't care too much for our ears...) (BTW, if you keep messing with your tablet, it will be cheaper for you to get a new one and let your old one for replacement parts...).

I've just installed the new 4.1 kernell from Balrog (try to use it with 1.8 or 1.8a, but no way... my tablet doesn't love those Roms...);Back to 1.6 and restoring apps now... test results in a few minutes...

                          Comment

Ok, here my results with Antutu:

With the previous Kernell (I was in 1.6 Rom & 1.5 Kernell), I had 17800 / 17900 in HD; With the new Balrog 4.1 Kernell, Antutu climbs to 19300... impressive, but not only by numbers... maybe it's a placebo effect, but I feel the tablet is run much smoother than before (I can see the lady "flowing" in the pool now... before, it was kind of a "breakdance").

Then I've installed Crossbreeder and ran the test again (twice): 19662 / 19725 (Don't know if it had anything to do, but the results are there).

The Wifi connection works like always (around 10 Mb in a 20 Mb line; never get more than 16 Mb in a desktop pc connected by lan) and 3G works well too.

The main difference I can see right now (or I believe to see, but I'm pretty sure is real) is in the browser; I'm using Dolphin and can say that the scrolling is now smoother, close to those of the iPad 2 that I was using before (it was the only thing I was missing !!).

So, in two words: and , for both Randy and Balrog.

I Will test now some HD games and videos now... anyway, thank you again for making this tablet fly !!!

Thanks man....... but it seems too huge and bulky for me.... I was fine with the original speaker... its not a very good speaker but hey..whats what... I mean we don't expect that much from a tablet speaker...if its loud enough it will do. So I'm looking forward for a speaker that would fit inside the device (on the original placement) BTW (no offense randy) I've also experienced bootloops with 1.8... other versions works fine though..... once again, thank you randy for providing us a cool custom rom...
