NEW - Lollipop - wasser firmware 3.0.6 for Minix Neo X7

My internet connection at home is SUPER slow 1.5mbps . Hopefully that will not be a factor.

After trying to flash new Roms last night, I have to re install all of my software again. Will need to do a backup next time.

Internet connection speed shouldn't matter. On quickshot it crashes the system when one tries to play a video!

i tried the "kernel-neox7-1080p.zip" and as soon as it reaches boot animation it crashes with pixelation effects.

also, the kernel "kernel-minix-x7-160114.zip" above is hyperlinked to "kernel-minix-x7-110114-2.zip" , whats going on here????

I had the same problem trying to flash "kernel-neox7-1080p.zip" on my Minix X7. Did you ever find a way to do it or did you stay with "kernel-minix-x7-160114.zip"?

That is the only kernel that is working for me. Maybe I should only be flashing the kernel and not the whole package?

it seems we have a similar device, those RK's built machines can differ in minor things and would stay unnoticed for ages, full of scandals.

Right now im on the least OC'ed kernel from that big package, i might compile a post on what is what regarding the kernels, cant ask Wasser for that, in fact, we owe it to him.

i'm ruuning kitkat 4.4.2 (1080p no oc) and it only takes 1-2 minutes to reboot after a crash. Strange though since i switched from wifi to ethernet i havent had a single crash. lol never mind just had a crash guess its got nothing to do with wifi, although it does do it far less then before.

Whenever this happens to me I wipe cache and wipe davik cache VOA recovery and all returns to normal. It doesn't happen often. Probably 3 times in a month

Thank you very much Pluto. I downloaded the zip and I will give the file named "kernel-neox7-cpu1704h-gpu600h-ddr720-1080p.img" a shot.

It will be interesting to see if the Ethernet quirk is in this version also. I'll post my results.

The quirk is, if you boot up the Minix X7, THEN connect the Ethernet cable, the Minix will not connect. You must unplug the Ethernet cable and plug it back in for the "connection" to happen. It is easy to monitor in the settings area for Ethernet.

The KitKat firmware is spoofing a Samsung Galazy S3. model GT-I9300

I installed the "kernel-neox7-cpu1704h-gpu600h-ddr720-1080p.img" kernel and it does work. I have not tried many apps to see how smooth they run other than Antutu = 19345 (1080p) but it will be fun to reinstall XBMC and see how it plays.

Unfortunately that Ethernet bug is still there. If the Minix boots first, then the Ethernet is plugged in, the Minix will not "Connect". If you physically unplug, then plug the Ethernet cable back in, it will connect. Also, under Ethernet settings, if you un-check the box, then put the check back in, the Minix will connect to the Ethernet.

Wifi handles this perfectly!

Also, can you tell me what sort of Switch or Modem you have that you connect the Minix with? ISP Modems can be extremely strange in their home deployments, i remember Orange in UK having problems with Ethernet MTU not being in Auto.

Volume is either on or off, no steps in between
(Well the steps are there, but not working)

Presumably because there is no sim, but there wouldn't be

3. i have disabled Airplane mode in my rom. In my opinion it does't make sense to enable it for TV box

I'm using a TP-link TL-WR541G. It's an older router, but it works well. I went into its settings for WAN and the only setting for MTU is to change the size. I have it set on the default of 1500

I tested the Minix with wifi and Bluetooth disabled. Same thing.

I have a K-R42 with the same KitKat 4.4.2 kernel and firmware installed and I see the same Ethernet behaviour.

It would be very interesting if you do NOT see this behaviour. It is super easy to test...

1) Just boot the Minix up without the Ethernet cable connected

2) go into Android settings for ethernet and watch the status.

3) plug in the Ethernet cable

Did the Minix "connect" or does it still say "unconnected"?

I have to physically remove the cable and plug back in, or toggle the check box to make the Minix "connect"

If no one else sees this, then it must be me.

It seems to be the best rom my version of MINIX neo x7. Don't know if it is because of my hardware or kitkat vs jb.

The issue for me on other jb ROMs; I would get random hangs when every I started a task/app. Then I get the wait or FCC, I'd have to hit wait, then it would load. This issue doesn't seem to be present in this romvfor men why I'm sticking with it. Only thing I'd like to see improved is 1080p xbmc playback; its jittery. But, MX player does the job fine.

spdif passthrough should work on this rom, hdmi passthrough still doesn't work
