Is anyone else having problems with image dropping for few seconds every now and then?
It seems HDMI-connection just drops every now and then for few seconds, it automatically pick ups after that. Happens on totally random, but annoying when watching movies etc.
Running on latest wasser 1.0.4. Didn't notice this behavior with 4.2 roms i tried (quickshot, hardwareguru)
Any fix?

HDMI cable could be bad
HDMI cable not inserted in to TV or device HDMI socket fully (SOMETIMES this happens if there is too much molded rubber on the cable ends preventing a full insert to the HDMI socket it can be trimmed off with an x-acto blade)
I have read that Samsung HDMI sockets are a little flakey on some models.FLHT = Harley

Cause I've been asked.

This did not happen when I used Finless 1.9. It only started when I upgraded to wasser 1.0.4.
I am quite sure it is not the box or cable.

i have an issue with sound output being killed off completely, in android or any app. it requires a reboot to get it back again.
i dont know if the issue is to do with xbmc/spmc or the sound device manager but it happens when playing a movie or tv show (DTS or stereo) that after pausing the media for a little while (30 secs +) lose audio. funny thing is that if im playing a source that only has 2 channel audio and lose the output, if i play a media file which has surround sound (DTS) it will passthought the audio fine, but when its finish theres still no sound output in the normal audio mode.
if i completely kill the xbmc/spmc process it doesnt bring the audio back, which makes me believe that the root of the issue may not be xbmc/spmc
ive selected the PASSTHROUGH option in the sound device manager (bottom choice)
ive tried the stock 1.04 kernel and the OC kernels, still the same across them all
other than that, hdmi passthrough, etc works fine

i dont believe its my reciever as ive never experience this with any other rom or device. still unsure if this is an xbmc/spmc issue or the rom

Of course it not your receiver or tv or cable, everybody said that. HDMI is not a 120v plug, several version are coexisting, lot of fonctions add and are suppose to be compatible but if your tv is 1.3 and your device 1.4 that mean you have 1.3. Some older tv set have only one hdmi at 1080p and 720p for other input (I had a real hard time with somebody until he found out) So maybe by turning on and off your tv I don't know... maybe somebody else have your issue but for now I leave you with this I do not think it is firmware related (maybe because new firmware are cec compatible or something else) but I think it is more home cinema configuration.
im 100% convinced its not my setup, i have a denon 1912 reciever, no splitters or selectors. never had an issue like this/ at all with my reciever. its only occured recently, and thats from playing with the x7 for over a year now.
the difference from it working previously is kitkat and new versions of xbmc. Im goning to test an older patched version of xbmc to see if it still happens.

Right, I've narrowed it down.
Tested with older versions of xbmc - cutout still occurs
Tested with spdif, using older version xbmc, xbmc 14 alpha 2 and spmc with the sound manager to spdif pass through - no cutout
Had a play with changing the setting in the sound device manager, the problem is the passthrough option for hdmi, the last one on the menu. It only occurs on this option even if I don't play any surround sound audio and just play 2 channel sources.
I've wiped and reinstalled the Rom and it's still happening.
Can anyone else please test this. Select the passthrough option (last one on the menu, the one to achieve passthrough using hdmi, not spdif passthrough) in the sound device manager. Then play a few videos, doesn't have to be surround sound videos, and see if after stopping one of them and trying to load another one causes the audio to cut out. Seems to be random when it occurs.

My setup:
Ugoos UT2 Wasser 1.25 BXBMC Frodo also have armv7 Gotham 13.2 final (8/17/2014)
Sound option set to last option HDMI passthrough
I have never lost audio while playing a video or stopping and switching a video.
BUT
I do loose the audio in BXBMC and Gotham for the sound effects! You know, click sounds and whoosh sounds. It's like the sound chip goes to sleep and gets awakened after you move around in the program or change the volume level with the remote or play something. Then it's fine all the way through every video.
This probably is all of no use to you but it is sound related so I thought I would mention it.FLHT = Harley

Will be getting a X7 next week to watch football streams using NBC Sports and beIN Sports as well as live TV using iPlayer via ethernet connection, I believe KitKat uses less resources and memory than 4.2 so I will be installing the latest version of this ROM when I receive the X7
Is there currently any problems with ethernet connection or 1080p HDMI to TV with this ROM? I don't use WiFi or Bluetooth
Thanks

I haven't tried xbmc 3.2, I'll see if I get the same with just the navigational sounds. Have you tried the alpha 2 or spmc?
I think there's something up with that passthrough option in the sound device manager, just hope wasser is reading thisLast edited by danfozzy; 24 August 2014, 17:57.
