NEW - Lollipop - wasser firmware 3.0.6 for Minix Neo X7

Found out that, the bootloader in the rom file, is not being used. I flashed like 10x so far, just to notice that the bootloader the device boots is 2.13, while the one on the file is 2.19. I have manually updated it.

Also, older tools dont seem to recognize the device. AndroidTool v2.1 detected it, and a LowerFormat (Erase Flash, Erase IDB, etc) performed a boot in to MASKROM, which i have never seen before.

Just thought i'd add those two up.

Firstly thanks wasser, your lolllipop 5.1.1 it´s working great on Minix Neo X7 - OC'ed kernel; now I can run kodi 17.1 on my Neo X7, xposed 3.1.1 working great too with the extra modules; just missing yet a custom recovery for this OS on the X7, but not required at the moment.

There is as well "AndroidTool v2.35" is a small app that weight 7.5 Mb; works fine here, I had flashed the OC kernel with this and is working great (you can verify using non-frill cpu app" and youc an see the frequencies going up to 1800 Mhz). You have to check the kernel line and select the path with the correct OC kernel file), untick all of the ohter line and hit "run". The kernel is being falshe to the address 0x0000E000.
Use google with these words "AndroidTool v2.35", sure you will find a couple of links.

Can you share the tool please? I am really a resourceful person but google is really not good at giving chinese tools away. I literary found version 2.1 (MarsBoard, looks like a modified version), and it was the only tool that actually detected my box.

I tried the 0x0000E000, and 1.5 to 1.8 are left unused. I am having no luck with the kernel. Yet after i flash it, i feel the crispiness of the system a lot more compared to stock kernel. WEIRD.

I've installed 3.0.6 and everything seems to work ok except rkRemoteControl app. I've eHomeMediaCenter working and everything seems to be ok, but RKRemoteControl apk doesn't find my device. Has anybody working this app or is a bug in firmware?

I flashed this rom and kernel yesterday on my minix neo 7 mini. It works great, finally I'm able to run kodi 17 :-) Kudos to the developer for a great job!
I have an issue with Netflix though, it doesn't work. I tried every version I could find but only the version Netflix has on their site for unsupported devices is able to run, but then it gives me an error that it can't reach Netflix services (0013). I tried every solution I could find but none of them work.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get Netflix to work again? Is anyone else having the same issue as I am? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I' ve been using wasser 2.0.3 for a year or so on my Neo X7 and today I decided to upgraded to 3.0.6 and.... absolutely nothing works!!!

1) The bluetooth keyboard is detected and linked, but the trackball is not working
2) Network performance it AMAZINGLY bad: not more than 1 MBps, whereas I got more than 8 MBps with wasser 2.0.3
3) Really poor performance in reading external SD Card: extremly slow and sometimes the transfer stalls.
4) No audio passthrough in Kodi 16.2.1, not even in MXPlayer Pro
5) Not audio at all in MXPlayer Pro
6) CPU's cores are most of the time at 30% even when the device is idle and no other app except for CPU-Z is running
7) The system goes to sleep randomly

All of these issues occur both using the stock kernel and the overclocked one. How can it be possible that wasser 2.0.3 was working flawlessly this afternoon and after updating to wasser 3.0.6 nothing is working at all??
I'll have to go back to 2.0.3, but I read downgrading Android 5.0 to 4.4.2 could get the minix bricked. which steps should I follow to avoid to make the downgrade properly?

I have the same issue, even with version 4.16, the one which worked prefectly on wasser 2.0.3.

You can downgrade from 3.0.6 to 2.0.3 as per the usual ROM flashing method. You won't be bricking you device since both ROM versions use v2 version of the bootloader.

I did this exact procedure a few times when I was testing Wasser's v3 series.

I've done some testing. My previous rom was Quickshot 3.1 and it was rooted, Netflix worked just fine, but since that was kitkat 4.4.4, and wasser 3.0.6 is lollipop 5.1 i unrooted wasser 3.0.6 just to test. I reinstalled Netflix but it doesn't work.
I flashed wasser 3.0.3 to test Netflix because the changelog for this version say's Netflix should work. Doesn't work for me (unable to install from play store, version from Netflix' site gives 0013 error).
After that I flashed 2.0.3 and installed Netflix from their website (version 4.16.1 build 200147) which works like a charm! This rom is rooted too so maybe Netflix is going to stop support rooted boxes in new versions, but not in anything < v5.
So now I'm on android 4.4.2 with kodi 16.1 but at least Netflix is working again.

I'll keep a close eye on this thread to see if there will be any updates or recommendations or if someone wants me to test something.

just don't want to brick my box doing something wrong
