Home button stopped working, browser crashes too

This started a while back on 1.8. I thought flashing to 1.8.2 would cure, but after restoring apps and data, it came back. Home button "clicks" but doesn't do anything. Browser starts and dies silently. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

    Thanks,
    Bob

You need to use the STOCK flash tool (not the finless one).
      You can find it here:

That's exactly what I've done, I used the Rockchip batch tool 1.7, not the finless, but flashing fails; I will do another attempt.

Did you use the original cable?
Many times the problem is due to bad connection between tablet and USB cable...

Is it possible to enable ad-hoc wifi some way with this KitKat?
I have Nokia n8 and Joikuspot-internet sharing only ad-hoc type.

I've used the original cable that perfectly goes with finless tool, flashed three time RR 1.8, RR 1.8.1 and finally RR 1.8.2 after flashing fail of stock rom. I think it's impossible a malfunction of cable with RK tool. My OS is Windows 7, maybe an error in the file of stock rom?
Ultimately I wil send the tablet in RMA (WiFi don't turn on) with RR KitKat rom.

I can suggest you to try to download again the rom (even if the flashtool test it before loading...).
I cannot see the screenshot: did you use Batchtool 1.7?

Yes batch tool 1.7, the screenshot is also a link to imageshack where you can see the original.

You can try one of the other stock rom in the pipo.cn homepage.
Even if it marked as "3G" it is suitable for non 3G version too!
                          as this (latest) one:

Remember to disable "usb debugging" too

Nothing to do, with rk tool and the rom downloaded from your link all is perfect when testing the tablet, but when it came to "downloading firmware" suddenly firmware download fails. That's for me inexplicable!

                              I've no other ideas...

The only one more thing could be: try flashing with wall charged connected. Sometimes it helps...

                              This is my last idea...

Every time I flash, the wall charger is ever connected, it's the first thing I do. Well I'll send the tablet for repair with RR KK rom, do you think they will refuse the warranty?
