Hi there! Today I get my first android box, but it has a obscure brand (like most Chinese products). Printed on the case is 'Exbom OTT-A10' and in Android system 'MediaBox p212'. Trying to find exact 'model' don't return anything, so it's hard to find where to start, I try to identify some other device that shares the same board, the most near I can get was 'Tanix TX5' the 'non-pro' version (s905x, 2gb ram, 8gb nand).
So, my questions: can I flash this Rom on this device, since 'almost every p212 boards should work'?
Can I flash custom recovery to make a stock Rom backup, right? But I don't know what recovery build I use for this.

Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

the important part of the board can could cause issue are wifi chip but if is a p212 the wifi should be the same, if you want to flash twrp there is a version 3.0.2 working perfectly : https://mega.nz/#F!ZsxV0CrB!vsR6rdmZkpI9HShdPxybog just be aware that you'll need a wired mouse to use TWRP.
My Rom should work on your device, but just copy your remote config file before just in case of it's in /system/etc/ the name of the file is remote.conf .
then if you device has a reset button try the zip file i provided.

So....
Tested the ROM last night.

Flashed, adjust all things, installed SPMC,....

ARR is working!

ROM is fast and stable so far!
Very good job!

2 things I have found:
1. some games accept only internet connection via WIFI and not via ethernet port. (You have to unplug the ethernet cable and connect via WIFI. Parallel is not working because you get no IP)
2. On the first startup ARR is working. When you switch after a movie to another app (chrome, youtube,...) and then back to SPMC ARR is not working anymore.
Than you must restart the box. All other attempts (restart SPMC,...) are not working.

Overall: The ROM is the best I have seen so far!

Some sake is on the way!

About games accepting just wifi i think is unavoidable, many app are developed for mobile.
About ARR, dunno why happens a log could be useful, but... how? i will try to reproduce myself... from my experience, SPMC is really unstable.

i just checked the problem you have with arr. For me it is working fine. I op3ned a movie on spmc, stopped it, opened youtube,mxplayer, played some videos then went back to spmc and opened another video and i do get arr working.

Yep! Mine has reset button in the downside, not inside the p2 jack. I will test soon! Thank you so much!

I was on SPMC 16.5.0.
Now I have retested it on 16.5.3 and the problem is gone....

Only sometimes I get an crackling sound. But I can resolve this with a SPMC restart....

Hi Tosu, just please specify your device i wrote before to another user i cannot guess this Rom is based on V109 Official (kernel compiled 7/11/2016) Fw for Mini M8S II, has autoframerate enabled in kernel by me, but you've to use SPMC, i prefer Kodi 17b6 for many reasons, but if you're interested in autorefresh you'd use SPMC.
About ethernet i did some net optimizations, but i never used ethernet it so maybe some other user could give you a correct reply to you.

I use the latest firmware 13.10.2016 for OTA ¿rev.106?. I have never received any more from the OTA manufacturer. Can I receive OTA from another manufacturer or compatible model?

AP6212 wifi chip and new AP6212A is less download and coverage. It may need to modify the driver to give the same performance.

By the way, I do not know if this rom fixes it but can you remove the top bar of the time in the youtube application ?. It is very uncomfortable not to be able to see full screen.

Tosu i'm very sorry but i don't understand you, and more i don't understand what device you own... i will ask for the second time... what device are you talking about?
I suspect you own a MINI M8 SII? If is like this the latest official is V109 released on 07/11/2017. No problem on on wifi or whatsoever...
About Youtube i'm actually playing a vodeo in full screen without any topbar, but i did nothing probably you're using a different youtube app.

U have full skreen apk on play store...need reboot if u want task and navibar again.(u must turn off fs)
