You can use KODI alone! no problem
The issue is you cant use any addons! in another term,such as if do not "power-off" your Device than you wont lost your Addons too! Strange but its true!
So you can use your KODI such a "Player" only!
++
And you right,this device need a powerful good ROM too
Seems that RK has some compatible issues with KODI/Android7xxx as at present this Device just a shame
++
Its Android 7.1.2

But I leave it as "Default"!
Why?
-ACCELERATION;all greyed out "MediaCodecs" unticked so I play all my videos without issue but except 4K videos! so if I play 4K video than ticked again!
-RKCODEC; all grayed out leave it Default! only Accelerate Mpeg1/2(pre-set activated)
if I ticked all boxes than I wont play my videos! and FTMC closed and turn to Main Menu so now all greyed out!
For this set. I can play my FHD/UHD videos without any issue
Thanks again for your advices++
You can't install RKMC/FTMC manually otherwise it will crash it you play video on Nougat, but if you are using Marshmallow then you can install it manually.

Hello and nice to meet you all. I've been posting in this forum to find a solution to my bricked H96 Max rk3399 4gb/32 gb Rockchip Android Tv box. The box got bricked after i accidentaly disconnected the OTG cable while flashing back from Superceleron's 7.1.2. Alfawise Custom ROM back to the 7.1.2. Stock Firmware. Superceleron's Custom Rom worked on it except the WIFI. That's why i decided to go back to the Stock Firmware . Either way, that's how i bricked my box (alone my stupidity ) , but i would like to see my box up and running again if possible. So, first things first: I run on Windows 8.1 Pro (64 bit ver. ) , i do own an OTG cable that worked just fine until i stupiditly disconnected the box , I gathered all the necessary software reuired for the flashing process ( Android_Tool_2.3.9 , All versions of the ''RockChip_Batch_Tool'' available and of course all versions of the '' RockChip_Factory_Tool '' that are available to this date. I would like for someone to pin point the exact location of the pins on the uploaded fotos and counter the exact steps required to get the job done . Thank you all very much !5 Photos

on end on point A the other on point B , then USB OTG to PC , then Power , Tool recognizes the Box , if Drivers
installed , then you can restore your Box , wait till end , wait 5 minutes , disconnect and check on TV if your Box
runs .

But you must still be able to connect in 'Loader mode' if there is no connection to the PC and your bootloader is completely corrupted then you still need to open and short 2 pins on the PCB.
I think it will be useful to a lot of people.
