the first thing I noticed changes the mmc usually mounts the samsung this is a SanDisk. Even the Rams here are four and not two for the rest I can not understand why the roms I find on the web do not start ... !!

The only ROM that currently works on this device is the following Tanix TX8 Max - Android 7.1.2 New stock firmware for BETA testing (Wifi 9377).

As you can see this Picture of the Alfawise is what SC rom is based off a long time ago and its Oh so different to the pictures above
To flash SC rom or any custom ROm without a backup would not be good

What program do you recommend as the best for making a backup and restore on one of these H96 boxes? I have never made a full blown backup before but think now is the time. Thanks in advance for any advice you provide!!

Need to get the firmware .img is the best and has been an ask in the Gearbest thread, just have to wait or it may show up as they often do.
If you have root you can backup all your app etc with titanium...

Hello, i have similar problem with "new revision" of Alfavise h96 pro plus 3/32GB from Gearbest action. Mine use Toshiba flash chip. (maybe some re soldered old chip...)

I flashed V4 img with toothpick/microSD card method. In my case was necessary to hold the toothpick button whole flash time. Than flashing was successful. (without holding of button - freezing )

Android seems working ok but the option in shutdown app "reboot into recovery" don't work. OTA into V6 is now impossible.

Note: By burning of image into microsd card I checked all checkboxes in "Burn Card Maker" program and "forcelly erase" option. Maybe this was not good idea....

1.Why ota update not possible? I haven't flashed yet...
2.wifi works for you?
3. I see that you have the new heatsink like i do, max temp for me is 69 deg..

"reboot to recovery" works only after you have rooted the box. For that you need to go into recovery
You should use the Update app for installing OTA (and for rooting or going into recovery)...

OTA is successful only if you see TWRP perform OTA installation and you see "success" message in TWRP. And after that box reboots and first boot can take long time (I would wait at least 15 minutes to be sure)...

You can go to TWRP using toothpick method... Does this work for you? You should see TWRP interface...

If you can go to TWRP, then you can install OTA from there - just select INSTALL and select the OTA zip from USB stick/SD card... You will probably need a mouse and/or keyboard for navigating in TWRP...

BTW - does your TV support 1080p60Hz? This is the default for SCV6 (I guess) after successful update. But then you should see "no signal" or similar not "black screen"...
