i have a box from july.
the only change i did was flashing the first ota released here to get atv version.

yesterday i did a factory reset in the settings because i wanted to use another google account.
i signed in afterwards and installed all my apps from play store.
everything was fine except netflix.
netflix acted weird.
i couldn't play any content.
after 5 seconds i always got an error message that netflix had problems i should try later.

so i downloaded the first atv ota again from july and flashed it in twrp.
wiped data and cache and rebooted.
i have set up everything and netflix works again without any problems.

i don't want to update because the first version works flawlessly on my box.
so why change a running system.

so as a hint:
doing factory reset from settings causes problems with netflix.
maybe some necessary files are deleted in that process.
ota flash helps in this case

Can you share the file or maybe you have link to this "first ota released"?

Back to my theme, which soft should I now try to upload by usb or sd card if the box hangs at the beginning?

Does your box have not a restart button and when you want to restart the box at the beginning the solution is to soldered 2 pins-"k1" on the main board ?

Should I renamed this file e.g. "m8s" or "update" in case of method with sd card ?

What do you think I do wrong in case of flash using program "usb burrning tool" -> Error result: [0x10105002] Romcode / Initialize DDR / Read initialize status. It's the problem with hardware of this box (this box was sent yesterday from China,-> 3 weeks - shipping time) ??
Maybe should I solder some memory pins in DDR on the main board or before start the flashing should I solder this 2 pins (restart button) and after that plug in the power adapter ?

Please WAIT ...
It has been said a few times, and just my opinion, but If you have a box with FW 20170829 or later probably best to WAIT for a new ROM based on the Latest FW.
My Later box has 2x D/G Memory Chips inside if that helps anyone identify their box.
If you use any of the earlier ROMs then the box will probably be soft bricked - There is some hope that the new V06xx FW will un-brick the affected boxes, though one person has failed to get back to a working box so far.

UPDATE: Just re-flashed my box with the new OEM FW 20170919.150557.V0619.img and my box still freezes after 10 -20 seconds.
First try stuttered through the splash anim - further attempt stop on MECOOL to end of splash anim

Some things for Reference

The Back USB port is the Port to use for flashing -nearest the power socket.
Use a USB 2 Male-A to Male-A cable (I had problems with a USB3 - C cable)
Use a USB 2 Port on the computer.
Use - : Erase Flash > Force Erase ALL - Tick
I used - : Erase Bootloader - Tick
Do NOT Tick : Overwrite Key
Burning pauses at 98% for 70 seconds (verification) then completes - Total time ~ 4:02min (YMMV)

The RESET Button is on the front of the box, to the right of the middle - through a vertical slot.
There is usually no need for a power supply in order to use USB Burn Tool.

Burn Tool must have been installed with the appropriate drivers - May need a box connected during install.
I Start USB Burn Tool - Press second Top Menu Item to get to English Menus/Buttons
The connection method that I find normally works ...
Press-and-Hold RESET Button while connecting USB cable - Do not release until you see Device ID : HUB3-5 : Connect Success (up to ~7 seconds)
Other methods for getting the box to connect/flash have also been posted - see above, etc.

The OEM 20170919.150557.V0619.img didn't heal my 08 Box.


Seems like the earlier FWs really mess up this newer box.

Just hope someone can come up with a fix ...

Just noticed that although the box is frozen, if you leave it powered on the SOC gets gradually warmer even though nothing appears to be happening ??
Doesn't get burning hot though, and putting a fan on it during start-up doesn't seem to help at all.

I have the same hardware version that was missing the reset button on the bottom of the device. They moved the reset button to the top of the board, and it resides on the front of the device to the right side of the IR receiver. You can reach it behind the vents with a paperclip. I was really scratching my head when the reset button was missing on my device and started looking for answers

Bricked... yesterday... it was a chance... it was on the screen the nexus logo... now, red light with normal 5v supply (no picture on the hdmi screen) and in method 2 - usb burning tool, the same problem: [0x10105002] Romcode / Initialize DDR. I try in win7 32 and 64 bit.. / usb 2,0 and usb 3,0... no change

Woohoo. Cycling it seems to get me through to the original page.
Although if I quickly ran to move the remote control around, then it will hang.
I guess baby steps.
But this is still a problem. and I will go get a refund or replacement. Maybe it's not as stable.

Edit: It sucks, I just move it to a few spaces to 'APPS' and it hangs. this is madness lol.

The unit that I got is also having the reset button on the top part as described in Post#507

No, I never got either an .img or OTA update for this release. It would be interesting to see if they've signed the boot images on this one too.
