X92-2GB from what I could test as well, you don't need Webview at all, if you have both Chrome and Webview, Webview is disabled because Chrome takes over as the most recent one. You wil save around 100MB as well and it's as you say, Chrome is more compatible. That's why in my release I've also removed Webview. Are you completely bug free from the ones I've documented in my post? If yes, allow me to have a peek at your ROM as a starting point

As for my base, I moved on from this one, and did your SCV1a stock, installed my ti backups, since it was phone based and allowed ti backup to be fully functional, then ôta to SCV7a.
used my backup of a recent stock firmware system lib files, and copied only missing files. Using copy paste in Solid Explorer.
then hunted down 7.1.2 system apps that your firmware did not have updated or was missing. Seems like some were phone based and others were earlier versions.
also added Droid Settings from stock.
I run Xposed with a lot of modules, and use a few modules in Magisk.
The biggest mod is my custom build.prop, and massive hosts file to allow extra blocking than many pré packaged ad blockers do not fully have installed. Only rarely I disable my hosts file.
anyway, that sums up my customisations.
like I said in a few of my previous replies, you can't do a pure Android TV firmware. Just too many phone apps need some phone compatibility. Basically your very close to getting there... I think my main issue is just getting ti backup fully functional. I have worked around the few recently updated phone apps that don't work, by using previous versions, like correcting the new YouTube.
will test further with the additions I have done with the missing lib in the TV folder, and a few other lib or permissions additions.

bullgates and Superceleron, nothing came from further updating missing TV lib in priv-app, and a few other missing lib, etc/permissions and system files. The main issues with phone apps is two things... Webview crashalytics reporting, and dynamite reporting. Seems that there is phone apps that require that functionality to operate.
so far the only app I have come across that is forced to use webview, is STV Player. Once i disable chrome it falls back on dynamite module which is the main issue with other phone apps failing.
also as a secondary is CastManager I guess that is because cast certificates are broken, and have nothing to do with app erroring and FC.
Once the primary issue with Dynamite module is fixed, 99.5% of the phone apps should start up, and function for the most part.
I think the falling back to webview when webview is disabled, is due to bad coding of the app, or ATV api structure needs sorted out for rogue webview requests when chrome is active. Don't know programming just looking at it logically.
as there are some who do not like chrome because it's active in memory... I use prevent running xposed module. Chrome quites when exited or sits in background for too long. Though it is smart enough to let chrome do active downloads and streaming features in back ground. Once the activity is done, chrome is considered resting in background and is killed.

Found the issue to webview being called by STV player... an old version of Android.ext.shared was left in the system app folder. Also I had copied android.ext.services thinking it too was needed. Now that I have only one of each, and they are of proper revision. Webview error with STV player is no longer.
I assume the OTA did not clean up the ext.shared in the system app folder. As the date time stamp on it was slightly prior to the one added by OTA.
Now I can see Dynamite module being the main and only issue with some phone apps.
as for the calls to the missing lib within System/priv-app/TV... They are no longer as well. So I can't see any other issues to mess with phone apps or ATV in general besides the dynamite module and it's associated analytics logging errors.

X92-2GB thank you so much for your input. I think I may have fixed some bugs by putting some order on the APK versions. I was not able to play around much with this because of lack of time, but I've fixed the latest Youtube Leanback freezes (all seems fine now with v 2.03.06). I will try to make a revision of my ROM with all the fixed stuff released.
According to the logic Chrome may also need some libs to fully replace Webview, I'm not completely sure and I have to test also further.
Have a great week.

he means ATV play store... you can use APKMirror for most all apps that don't show in ATV play store, or use Aptiode if you prefer an ATV interface.
