Dind you got tired to answer allover the same questions,he said i've read true the tread but can't even find the flashtool in your rom.
Especialy i download your rom to verify and yes the Flashtool is there, witch i knew before, but just checking
I am wondering,he want to flash this rom as a newbie an wondering where he ends. I told hem the risks.
People these days are lazy and wont lissen,i think
There are thousands of posts here spread over dozens of threads. It is completely unrealistic to expect new users to go back and read through 95% outdated conversations to find the one jem of info they need, and when they do use the search tool it sure would be nice if what they found were actual answers insead of harassment and links to dead urls. It's a better way to demonstrate your expertise to the rest of the forum users too.
A wiki knowledge base or FAQ could help too.
Oh, and fix the filename in the instuctions please.

I'll fix that right now.
Since I can't realistically go back and replace the pdf file in ALL my ROM's, I will post the new version on this thread: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...for-RileyROM-s
Future ROM's will have the new pdf.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. As I've said, I've been doing this for quite a while, and sometimes assume that users can figure out some of the simplest things...I forget sometimes that we are dealing with new users all the time who don't speak English. I can imagine it can be quite confusing when the terminology is different. Sorry about that.
When I started to flash ROM's, even before I became a developer, I assumed that the single exe file in the root of the ROM kit was the tool you use to flash the ROM, regardless of what the filename was. That's the way most ROM kits I've seen are configured. Especially since the exe file is named "Flash Tool".
The Flash Tool I use is a customized version (by Finless) of the RKFlashtool released by Rockchip. He changed a few of the settings and compiled his own exe file. Just to give you a little history. When Pr0xZen created the first version of the First Time User's Guide, that's what he called the tool, and I didn't change it (I didn't think it was necessary).Randy

Now we are all waiting for a final KitKat-Version.
Btw, will you be able to include a "Magnetic cover screen off" feature like included in the NXMod in your next Rom?

That's correct...so far, none of the KitKat ROM's from Pipo have GPS capability.
Hopefully soon, since China is now back from holiday, the Pipo techs will give us an update.Randy

Read post #2 in this thread:
http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...G-A-KITKAT-ROM!!!!!
Before you go that far, try flashing the Jellybean ROM...erase IDB first. If the erase IDB shows errors, or flashing shows an error, you will need to put your tablet into mask mode as explained in the thread.Randy

PIPO M9 stuck in device on-off loader loop
Not sure if title exact but here goes...
I've had my M9 for over a year, I finally decided to try a bit of KitKat and looks like I've bitten off more than I can chew !
I've had various tablets and flashed roms in past so I thought I'd have ago at KitKat 2.5.2
All usb drivers loaded fine and using utility rebooted2flash and loaded the flash mode driver.
Ran erase IDB fine, and moved onto the Flash ROM.
All data written to file but failed on the "check download data".

17:16:36 750 ERRORownload file failed
17:16:36 750 ERROR:Image Thread Failed
17:16:36 750 ERROR:Run failed
The M9 is now dead, no response.
When I connect back to PC the Flash utility reports, "Found RKAndroid Loader...."
after about 20secs the device drops out and I see "No Found RKAndroid Loader ..."
after a further few secs it's found again only to drop out again.
So the device is in some kind of on-off device seen/missing loop.
As mentioned on the guide page14 "bootloop" have tried using reset-ESC-power to hold M9 in loader mode but device drops out even when holding the power button.
Have tried other PC and again device is seen and then drops out.
I used to like KitKats, hope someone can help or advise.
thanks

First of all, the M9 Pro hasn't been out for a year. Are you sure you have the M9 Pro tablet?
There isn't currently a KitKat ROM for the original M9 Max tablet (although Freaktab Developer Dnkn is working on one).
If you flashed this ROM on your M9 Max, follow the same direction I gave in the post immediately above yours.Randy

had this problem a few days ago with M6pro
solution:
..plug in the charger
press the buttons to flash the Tab
and it stays in flash mode

You might check the easy things before you give up. You may have a bad USB connection. Try a different USB 2.0 port...and since you have two Pipo tablets, try the other USB cable. If that doesn't help, try a different PC to flash from.Randy

CWM
Originally posted by interesting.items View PostHi.. Riley.... I had been following you and Bob closely at these forums. Thanks for your efforts for furnishing such cool ROMs....I stumbled upon a working CWM for Pipo M9 Pro.... that works seamlessly with Kitkat... personally tested it myself... not sure on Jelly Bean 4.2 ROM though... For those who understand.. you may go ahead and download the recovery image from the link given below.... then use RK tools [ROM flash tool] as provided with Riley's Kitkat ROM....
1. Download the recovery Image from the link below
2. Ensure that all the options are unchecked...except sl no 1 - loader and sl no 6 - recovery
Please Ensure that loader (Sl No 1) and recovery (Sl No 6) is kept selected
3. Click on the three dots(ellipsis) on the right side of the recovery and select the recovery image you just downloaded
4. Flash ROM
I hope this information is useful.... Good Luck...
The Link for recovery is as follows : (if anyone has any questions/doubts..please feel free to ask..I will respond with whatever limited resources i possess.)

IT WORKS !!!! Thank you
I cant test if it works with advanced restore cause I dont have a previous backup with the other version of CWM before kitkat , my tablet is new and when I received I flashed Kitkat and I didnt used it with JB.
Hope someone can test the advanced restore ....
