NEW - Lollipop - wasser firmware 3.0.6 for Minix Neo X7

I'm totally lost on this, so if someone could help, tat would be appreciated.
So, I flashed Wasser's 3.1a rom without any problems. I'm trying now to flash one of the Overclocked kernels.
I downloaded it and changed its name to "kernel.img" and saved it onto a blank SD card, in the root directory.

After inserting the SDCard into the X7, I opened the "Android Terminal Emulator" app and then typed out the commands listed below:

su
export PATH=/data/local/bin:$PATH
flash_image kernel /sdcard/kernel.img

All I got was a "error opening /sdcard/kernel.imgfailed with error: -1"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It´s the internal partition or directory named "/sdcard/", put the renamed kernel.img file on this place ; you don´t need external sdcard.

I managed to do that and, after I press "enter" a line comes up that says "wrote kernel partition."
Is that it? Is there any way to check if this has flashed correctly? Do I need to restart the X7 or do anything else?

I'm experiencing some flicker on my device and I was hoping that the new kernel might fix this... Right now, that doesn't seem to be the case. Could anyone advise on that please?

Yes it´s that, everything fine now; you can run Antutu benchmark test and you will see in Device info / details your new CPU frequencies; in fact the antutu value itself will reflect the new kernel.

This happens frequently as a know problem due to the HDMI deficiency from Neo X7 and the TV set; there are some kernels with different HDMI parameters for those problematic cases, but for Wasser FW I dont´know. One immedaitte action for you is decrease the hdmi refresh rate or decrease hdmi resolution into android settings; so don´t use 60 Hz or 50 Hz, instead use 30 Hz or 24 Hz for 1080p resolution; or decrease resolution to 720 p (in this case 60 or 50 Hz normally can be steady to work). Doing that may be help you to can stay with wasser rom.

Something to add and a Error

Pls could you a the KeyMap from the X5 remote with NextTrack Pause Stop amd so on.

I reported an error that the video skip for ca. one minute while streaming.

I used BurningSeries App und watched SouthPark (Season 14 in my case) on Streamcloud with MxPlayer H/W and i don't move the mouse or do something else.
And after ca. 16-18 minutes it skips.
Does anybody else have this skip Problem? It it skips on local Filmes too.

i have a problem with tvheadend with your ROM, i guess it has something to do with the permissions.

The Kernel Modules are loading fine, the DVB-T stick is recognized and successfully added.

But as soon as i start the tvheadend, i get an error:

[COLOR=#333333][I]ERROR unable to open /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0[/I][/COLOR]

the path is correct though. maybe permissions?

did work fine with 4.2.2.....
any ideas?

2 small notices about 1.03a

after first flash: I have noticed that sometimes the wasser xbmc and ES fileexplorer icons appears late on app screen - like they are not mounted/unpacked whatever it is called. up to several minutes like 4-5
can this be correct?

also i noticed (i have installed 14 boxes for friends and last 10 with this firmware - gonna donate for sure.. great work Wasser) that ethernet can occasionally be dropping on - off. Happend to two boxes.
again, other seen this ? or is my router tired of all the constant new ip´s and mac adresses ?

anyway.. i really like this firmware. Can the Wasser Gotham come preloaded with fusion / mashup repo links and more add-on short cuts so one can also do video short cuts in music/pictures/programs on main page?

Hi Wasser,

I recently flashed my Minix Neo X7 box with the Wasser 1.0.3a and also installed the Wasser xbmc 1.2.
i must say everything works like charm, the ROM is super fast and very responsive.

The only problem I want to report is the YouTube live streams does not work in Xbmc. They work perfect in the YouTube application (google play version).

Display problems

Hello guys first post here, I have flashed the new wasser firmware and it's great, however I have some issues with the display and the colour reproduction. I have weird low res colour output which makes the picture very bad looking like 8bit or something and this is throughout the whole system and movie playback. I have attached photos for reference. Does anyone know what might be causing this. I have tried different hdmi cable, different TV and choosing different resolution in the menu but nothing seems to be helping. Any help is much appreciated

My XBMC database is quite big, about 2Gb, and while the internal memory is only 3.9Gb...
and I have few other software, the system says I have only 1G available, while the SDCard
si almost empty...

I tried few ways to move to SD, but all the apps says the ROM blocked this option.
What can I do?
